Jacob ("Jake") H. Zamansky is one of the country's foremost authorities on securities law and the arbitration process for investors claiming broker wrongdoing. The New York-based law firm he established and currently helms, Zamansky & Associates, represents both individuals and institutions in complex securities and employment arbitrations, providing litigation and arbitration services involving churning, unsuitable investments, conflicts of interest and fraud.

Mr. Zamansky was at the forefront of recent efforts to "clean up" Wall Street. In 2001, he successfully sued former Merrill Lynch analyst Henry Blodget on behalf of a New York pediatrician misled by Blodget's stock research. The case's successful resolution was the catalyst for New York Attorney General Elliot Spitzer investigating conflicts of interest on Wall Street and the resulting, well-reported $1.4 billion settlement with many of the biggest names on Wall Street.

More recently, Mr. Zamansky is representing more than a dozen Long Island and Florida working-class retirees who collectively have been bilked out of more than $100 million by a once high-flying "financial planner" who is currently in jail awaiting trial on grand larceny charges. Several of the largest sub-prime lenders are named in the lawsuit in addition to mortgage brokers acting on their behalf. The case has the potential to establish a landmark standard of suitability that lenders must adhere to prior to approving certain loans.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Zamansky worked more than 26 years as a litigator, including positions at Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP. His tenure also included serving as a federal prosecutor with the Federal Trade Commission.

A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Zamansky has been a frequent expert commentator on CNBC, CNN, and FOX News and has published opinion pieces in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Financial Times. During the Enron trial he contributed an “Enron Diary” for Forbes.com. Mr. Zamansky has been quoted and his cases have been chronicled in major financial and news publications including The New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, BusinessWeek, Fortune and Forbes. He is a frequent lecturer for industry and legal groups around the country and authors a blog which can be viewed at http://zamansky.blogspot.com.
