Obama Bin Laden?

Here we go again! Dean Singleton, a publisher, founder of the NewsMedia newspaper group and chairman of the board of the Associated Press news agency, had a question for presidential candidate Barack Obama about his policy on Afghanistan.

"Can you imagine shifting a substantial number (of US troops from Iraq) to Afghanistan where the Taliban has been gaining strength and Obama Bin Laden is still at large?"

I thought Obama handled it well as he calmly replied, "I think that was Osama bin Laden."

Mr. Singleton clutching his head, answers: "If I did that, I'm so sorry."

Now Obama could have said, "It's OSAMA you moron." But he did not. Or he could have fired back and screamed, "Now you know why people are bitter...because of idiots like you." But he didn't.

Anyways, Arab media was entertained...

contributions from Big business, her work for NAFTA, and her own statement at a debate defending her contributions from lobbiests because they represent 'average people'...­... a shot of a gas pump with the prices hovering near $4 a gallon, and a prescription bottle with pharmaceuticals costing more every day.

I guess the heads of big Pharma are people.... yes? Exxon CEO's with their $90 million dollar parachutes and their $40 billion in profits per quarter are just ordinary people... eh?

I was in high school during the Watergate trials. I really didn't understand the scandal, but I knew those guys were unrepentant liars with their "I can't recall" evasions on the stand and I felt outrage that they would flaunt the oath to tell the truth with such disdain while the whole country watched.

A scandal over a burglary ending with a presidential resignation and a pardon shamelessly executed by the handpicked successor. It was insulting, but it was at least satisfying to see Nixon explain his reasons for leaving office to the citizens. But, oh how the times have changed. If Nixon had known what they could get away with today!
