There's an asshole at every party and in the 2008 pool of potential Presidential candidates, it's Tom Vilsack.
Ill-advised. Unfortunate. Selfish. The words to describe his Presidential announcement just keep coming.
The Democrats aren't even in power yet.
There are serious issues facing the country and serious questions that Americans have about our ability to govern and change the country, and the world for the better. For six months, minimum, that's what we need to worry about - not helping self-absorbed politicians whose consultants are urging them "get out there first." "Be bold and be first in."
That's crap. Double crap if you're Vilsack because he's frigging from Iowa. What is he worried about? He has six or nine months before he needs to announce.
But no.
Despite a historic win and the opportunity of a generation for our party and a moment in history when we need to focus on rolling up our sleeves and fixing what's wrong, some jerk had to stand up and say: it's all about me.
His name is Tom Vilsack.
