Money for Nothing
If you're like me and a harmless surf on the web can turn into hours of lost productivity, you might be looking to somehow justify it. Turns out a few companies are finding ways to successfully turn your cache into real CASH.
Check out a few of the newest out there:
-
Though The Fancy is frequently talked about as a "Pinterest rival," the social commerce platform is different in the sense that it already has the commerce side built in. In an effort to reward the people who are spreading the word about products on The Fancy, the platform is set up to earn active users 2 percent when their friends and followers purchase products. As for content, you'll find less DIY and dresses and more gadgets, nicknacks and mansions. Similar to Pinterest all the goods are easy on the eyes.

Pinterest is proof that people want a curated experience, so The 15 Things aims to bring a curated experience to the pinners themselves. Once users set up an account from The 15 Things, they can pin a selection of items organized by trend to their boards. An even more curated experience is available through the 15 Things Pinterest boards, which feature, you guessed it, 15 of the best items within each trend group. Users are able to earn money based on the number of clicks for each pin, with users earning over $1,000 a month for just pinning items they like.

One of the more recent startups to enter the affiliate marketing space, Consignd aims to give back more to users by partnering directly with manufacturers. Users on the Consignd platform can create stores with products from the site that they can easily push on their social networks, with Pinterest being an important tool in the process. The founders aim to deliver commissions of 20-25 percent to Consignd store owners.

While Hello Society keeps pretty quiet about their Pinterest affiliate program, we know this startup headquartered in Santa Monica helps pinners earn money on pins, whether it's through clicks or more structured campaigns with brands. Touting partners such as Hautelook and Jackthreads, HelloSociety has turned into somewhat of a full-service Pinterest marketing agency, providing everything from analytics to contest to overall strategy.

Not exclusive to a network or platform, rewardStyle is an invitation-only affiliate program that allows users to earn commission on products, the amount varying according to the retailer. rewardStyle has some powerful bloggers utilizing its links and they're making money—up to $20,000 a month.

On Luvocracy you pick "trusted tastemakers" who provide recommendations for things you might like. Everyone can create their own shop and the more other people buy from your shop you earn rewards when people buy what you recommend, even if someone else passed along your recommendation. Though we don't know how much people are making, it's clear there is come love for Luvocracy.
