What's Your New Hampshire Prediction?

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Whazzup, New Hampshire?

Reports indicate that turnout in New Hampshire is way up this morning, the weather is good. Which seems to bode well for Obama, who benefitted (I guess you could say that's an understatement) from high turnout in Iowa.

Will it be a drubbing? Markos Moulitsas thinks so. But Jerome Armstrong says the race is far from over.

The Clinton campaign flailed wildly yesterday, trying to find some traction. They may have staunched the bleeding a bit with pushback against the misogynistic reaction to Hillary crying, which seemed to dominate the news cycle. And New Hampshire does have a special fondness for the Clintons, but whether their affection for the "comeback kid" will accrue to Hillary is unknown.

The fact that the culinary workers in Nevada are going to go for Obama (as Tim Russert reported this morning) is bad news for Clinton. She needed Nevada and probably won't take it now, and South Carolina is sure to be a rout.

Meanwhile, Edwards is the only candidate who has been consistently climbing in the national polls since before the Iowa caucuses. As FlaDem points out, Obama's bounce is predictable for anyone who won Iowa -- while the Edwards rise seems to be the result of more people hearing his message and liking it. (Although having seen Obamamania up close and personal in Iowa, I don't think that accounts for all of it.)

But will the press cover the Edwards surge? Doubtful. They seem quite disinterested in him.

Give it a go, let us have your predictions in the comments so you can point back to how right you were when the polls close. There's no way you could possibly be as wrong as Mark Penn.

Obama and Clinton tie.

Well, the important thing is B. H. Obama is going to humiliate Hillary, and she's going to make a fool of herself by blaming the "vast right-wing conspiracy," voting irregularities, etc, rather than figuring out that people have decided she's irrelevant.

Expect righteous indignation, anger, (more) fake tears, and a rallying cry that will fall on thousands of deaf ears.

The Fat Lady has sung.

Moments such as these are far and few between. The last time that I witnessed a similar political buzz in the air was in the days leading up to the Ronald Reagan landslide.

As we speak, writers and historians are busy gathering documents and writing rough drafts for biographies about Barack Obama. All the other candidates in this race are mere footnotes.

I think that Americans are tired of the Clintons and their triangulating ways and go with Obama. Republicans will settle for McCain because he is the least objectionable to all parties. Here's more analysis and predictions at Artdish:

My prediction is that Jane and the folks at FDL will again drift into the trivial instead of the real issues. Were you aware there is STILL a war going on in Iraq.

As long as THE CLINTONS are not the democrats choice, (with a lotta GOOD HELP from reasonable and concerned INDEPENDANTS of NH!), I, for one will be far happier than I have been since the SCOTUS PUTCH put the FRAT BRAT from BUSHVILLE in the white house.
With all due respect to OBAMA, my choice is still JOHN EDWARDS, and I will ride with him as long as he cares to GO!

Obama wins by at least 10 points. Clinton limps in at second, Edwards third.

McCain wins a much closer Repub contest. Romney can only hope that his home state of Michigan keeps him alive. But, he is a gonner.

The final race: Obama vs. McCain. It's JFK against Nixon all over again!! Same result, too.

Big difference, of course, is that Obama really does want to bring people together (and has the capacity to do it), and he has true family values that will only benefit his presidency and the nation. He is an historic movement, a force of nature...like Haley's Comet that only comes around every hundred years or so. People are responding to that.

Barak will take it with a large margin.
Hillary will be second due in part to the women who just want to make *that* statement.
In the 60s we had Womens Liberation, a revolutionary movement; which was coopted by the Womens Movement with power suits and shoulder pads.....*that* is her support. That is her record.

Obama and (my man)Edwards are ready to reformat and proceed.

It seems like all the drivel coming from the candidates is just something to do while the crowd stands there looking at them and it really only useful for whipping up support. Frankly, I don't care about the nuanced differences between the Dems because if we have a Dem Whitehouse and a Dem supermajority in Congress, you can be certain things will change. Once they know they can actually do what we want them to, without the kind of obstruction going on now, WE can tell them what to do and hopefully they will because they can't blame it on anyone else if they don't and they're going to want to stay in power. If Obama wins without actually promising single-payer healthcare (which he can't promise anyway), I'll bet he'd sign it if it landed on his desk, passed by Congress.

I hope that ANYONE but Hillary wins today, and wins for every successive primary! The Clintons are arrogant enough to believe that they belong in power, and that they alone know how to lead this country! They are WRONG! It is time for a new era of leaders to take over, and Obama or Edwards would do a better job than Hillary! The "PEOPLE" do not stand with Hillary, because most of them do not like her or respect her! I include myself in that group, and I am a LIBERAL person, not by any means a RePUke!!! Obama is a REAL leader, because he inspires people to follow him, including me!!! As a woman, I don't care a wit about Hillary's gender!!! What I do care about is her personality (or lack thereof), and her narcissistic sense of entitlement, coupled with her lack of passion and vision. I believe that the mood of the country is more like mine than not, thank God! Unfortunately, we have to worry about the Electronic Voting Machines, with corruptable "Source Codes" which were left in place by those deeply entrenched in the 2 Party System, including those who have endorsed Hillary Clinton. I only hope we can have a really FAIR election this time. As you all know, we have not had one of those in the past 2 Presidential Elections!!!

Act, not gad.

Point is, women are pointing fingers at o called misogynists, because their diva is losing.

She is NOT losing because she is a woman. She s losing because she does not have her finger n the pulse of Americans.

I am a woman and have lived long enough to see hat the feminist movenment has accomplished. Once, there were few women doctors and lawyers. Once tere were no women in the military and women have made great strides over the past sixty years and yes some of them still like to bake cookies and raise their children or home school them, and a lot of them do not hate men and never have, having the ommon sense to realize that in this world it takes men and women for a society to function.

Stop already with the accusations of misogeny. It rings hollow and looks very off kilter and defensive.

Your candidate is losing. It is her own fault she is losing and no one else's fault. It is not because ther is som misogynistic conspiracy to gangup on this poor misunderstood supposedly stong woman, who in thepast weeks looks quite weak indeed as a feminist and as a candidate for president of the US. It is because she just doesn't have it ad nevr did have it. She was riding high for a year, but now that she is losing, it is because of the mean misogynists, men and women alike who do not chooe tovote for her.

Stop already with the misogynistic screeching.

There is a population in this country and all men and all women are not miogynisitc.

Men and women both perceived this display as phoney and it was a gad at by Hillary
