Leave Your Rage On the Page

In these particularly precarious and nerve-wracking times of Wall Street meltdowns, plummeting portfolios, free-falling 401Ks, decreased property value, companies crashing, and a $700 billion Bail Out - all happening within the span of a few days - some of us may find ourselves reaching for the tried and true, all time feel-better fix - food, food and more food!

While the financial Bail Out may be necessary (the Democratic pundits make sense; Wall Street is mega-screwed up, but we must protect Main Street), I'm definitely NOT in favor of the Emotional Bail-Out!

People, let's get a grip on our emotions. Let's face the anxiety, stress, anger and dismay together. Let's seek non-food related ways to calm ourselves. Let's not use these crazy times as an excuse to stuff copious amounts of sweets, carbs, cakes, 32 oz. porterhouse steaks in our mouths to quiet and placate.

There's no point in trying to escape the upset, frustration, rage, or the disappointments. I, for one, will not let this fiscal crisis wreak havoc with the one thing I can control - my food! I will not let it intrude upon my healthy life. They may have stripped my retirement fund of cash and dignity, but not my resolve.

So, while it is begrudgingly okay to say yes to the Financial Bail Out, I say NO to the emotional eating bail out! No back room deals, rationalizing that you're stressed out, so it's okay to go off half-baked and eat a freshly baked anything!

Let's remain vigilant. Do NOT stuff it down. Do NOT let the weight of the world's financial woes weigh you down. Here is one sure way to hold on to your healthy way.

LET IT OUT! Join with me, and leave your rage, anger, upset, frustration, sadness, hopelessness, incredulity on the page (and not on your hips, thighs, and stomachs).

Comment ... more than once if necessary!!!
