Janine Popick is the CEO and founder of VerticalResponse, a leading provider of self-service email marketing, social media, online surveys, event marketing and direct mail solutions empowering small businesses to create, manage and analyze their own marketing campaigns.

She pens a column for Inc. magazine called “Basement to Boardroom” and has been featured in USA Today, Entrepreneur, Forbes, Businessweek, Yahoo! Small Business, the San Francisco Business Times, ClickZ, iMedia Connection, BtoB magazine, Selling Power magazine and Inside Direct Mail, among others, on topics related to email marketing, social media, small business and entrepreneurship.

She was an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist from 2006 through 2009, and won the Stevie Award for Best Entrepreneur of the Year from 2008 through 2010. The U.S. Small Business Administration also named Janine Small Business Person of the Year in San Francisco in 2010. That same year, she was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment.

Janine brings over 20 years of experience leading direct and Internet marketing programs for some of the biggest brands in technology and entertainment. Prior to VerticalResponse, Janine spearheaded direct and Internet marketing programs for brands including NBC Internet; XOOM.com; Claris Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple Inc.; and Symantec Corporation.
