It's time. Now. Before February 5th. If you wait, it'll be too late. You've won the popular vote, an Oscar and a Nobel Prize, and now it's time for you to give something back. Although somewhere in your mind you may think that there's a chance for you to rise from the dust of a brokered convention to claim the nomination for yourself, you must also know that this would not be the best thing for the Democratic party or the country. Not because you wouldn't make a great president, you would, but because of the inter-party civil war that we would need to go through first. We've seen it for the past few weeks. It seems that the Clintons (and believe me it breaks my heart to say this) will stop at nothing to get elected. And if they do, we will be faced with the same ugliness we had to live through in the 90s. Yes, Bill Clinton was a great president. Peace and prosperity were the order of the day, and that was good, but the political wars (in most cases not started by the Clintons) dragged this nation into the gutter, and the Bush regime has kept us there. It's time to rise above. It's time to believe that our politicians are good, and honorable. It's time to be inspired. Mr. Vice President, you've done incredible work these past few years, and you've made all of us proud. Now, like so many times before, we need for you to show us the way. History, by way of the future. Yes, we can.

THere's a blossoming chorus of dem leaders that are suggesting Gore step-up...His endorsement is by no means a lock, but it would certinly help Obama stay competitive through Tsunami Tues...If doesn't announce by Thurs/Fri, it probably won't happen. My gut tells me he'll step-up...
Gore/Obama '08 and if not, then Gore should endorse Obama and probably will and hopefully soon.
Any ticket that Hillary is a part of is a losing ticket. Clinton supporters need to wake up and smell the simmering anger and hatred that only the Clinton's can inspire.
Jason, you're fooling yourself if you think an Obama presidency would be appealing to Gore. You might be hypnotized by the flowery rhetoric of hope and bipartisanship in every Obama speech (as are the Kennedys), but not all of us are so blinded. Obama may be a good person, but he's been turned into just another cult of personality.
Looks like his issue-free campaign platform (Hope! Change!) is working though. He has surrounded himself with the same corporate DLC lobbyist fascists as Clinton. He is by far the most conservative Dem running for President, considered by many of us to be another moderate Republican running as a Democrat. No mention of his stated support for CAFTA, or his vote for the Patriot Act. No mention of his statements on Iran and Pakistan and Israel, which could have come from any of the warmongering Republicans. Proposes mandatory health insurance and pretends it's universal health care (just like Clinton).
I could pull facts all morning to illuminate Obama's moderate Republican voting record and agenda, but why bother? The Obamabots don't care about the facts, they just swoon over someone with great oratory skills, someone who they HOPE can be the next Kennedy. He sounds progressive, that's all that counts. Never mind the DLC scum he will bring into the executive branch with him.
Not that the Clinton fanatics are any better mind you. Everyone is ignoring the facts, hearing only what they want to hear and tuning out the rest. Must be election time again.
I sure would be interested in Gore's opinion... But something tells me that most people now see why Clintons help campaigning wasn't something Gore looked for. I respect that choice. But then, I have always respected Gore... Even when some poeple called him a goodie-goodie two shoes, as if it were an insult.
"now it's time for you to give something back".
I'm holding your comment in contempt for insulting one of the greatest "Givers" America has ever produced. Why is it we have to tear people down in order to raise one up?
Your eagerness to turn the Country into an "Obama Nation" is one thing, all power to you but remember the higher you elevate one human being above the sea the further they will fall when the tide goes out. ie: every buddys' favorite beer buddy.
it is a theory popularly held in the republican party that hillary is the ONLY thing that can truly unite them and get their party out to vote.
that's just what we need... something to unite the republicans and have them come out in droves in november!
Gore is above the fray and will stay that way until the nomination is decided as should have the Kennedy's.
Actually, we need Al Gore to step in and run for the Presidency himself. It isn't too late, and he's our best hope for recovery from these last eight disastrous years.
It looks like another Obama supporter is claiming that the only way to save the Democratic Party is to endorse Barack Obama. I'm not buying that. The fact is what has Bill Clinton said that's been wrong? I think he hits too hard, but the fact of the matter is Bill Clinton is a veteran of the wars with the Gingrich/Delay Republicans and if Senator Obama think s Uncle Bill is hitting hard, he is in for a surprise come the general election when the Republicans will come at him with everything but the kitchen sink. IF he can't stand up to Bill & Hillary he sure as hell can't stand up to the GOP machine.
However,I think we have a long way to go, and I think the end result will be a Hillary/Obama ticket which will be unbeatable in November. I think at the end of the day this is just a family squabble, we'll shake hands and kick some GOP butt in November...
Agreed!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
