"Walter Mondale has seen the light at the end of the tunnel - and it's out."
-Dan Rather, CBS Evening News, election night, November 6, 1984

As Senator Hillary Clinton took the stage in Ohio, aglow in the victories that came about from her Red Phone ads and negative tactics, everyone over the age of 25 should have felt a chilling reminder of a similar night in 1984, after a bruising primary race, when another equivocating, derisive and "experienced" Democratic Party machine candidate used slash and burn tactics to win the nomination, demoralized a new generation of Democratic Party activists, and prepared to take on a grandfatherly and economy-challenged warrior in the November presidential election.

Beware of what the cat drags in.

Here's a different Walter Mondale ad from 1984 that the Democrats might like to review, if only to remind Hillary Clinton that "turning the corner" with her latest negative tactics might lead down a darker McCain tunnel.

Will Hillary "Fight" on, just like Walter Mondale?

Obama is now being questioned....that's devisive? then you guy need to toughen up, if you think this is bad. Seriously, do you think McCain will just back off when Barry has a bad day? No, he won't. Will McCain stop asking questions about him just because you don't 'like' it? No, Obama and his supporters sound like a bunch of babies, she's mean, your mean, don't ask me hard stuff, bunch of little babies. You treat Hillary like some big time crook, and no one can even ask your guy a question....grow up. It's only devisive if she is right and he really does suck. if he is all that and a bag of chips as you all insist he is, what are you worried about, he should hold up just great....right? Or are you all so insecure we need to protect you from your own choice.

Psst. The post says "derisive", not "devisive" (sic). If sarcastically mocking your opponent is not derisive, then what is? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwRnELfu1Ak

I thought the party was hopelessly out of touch when they stuck ol' Mondale in as the replacement candidate for the US Senate here in MN after Wellstone's plane crash.

Then Hillary adopted the Mondale campaign, and proved what "out of touch" really means.

Mondale was a poor candidate by almost any measure but comparing him to Hillary Clinton is a great insult to Mondale.

Yes, he was at least sympathetic and 50 % of the population didn't hate him already

You are defined by the people who hate you. I'm proud to have such enemies in common with Hillary.
