Yikes! We've all heard how the Republicans are counting on Hillary Clinton becoming the Democratic nominee to unite their fractured party and energize their base. Bob Novak said as much in his most recent report:
Adding to the dark mood among Republicans is the increasing prospect that they will not be able to bolster their morale by running against the detested Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.). Her unification of Republicans has been one of the few GOP assets going into the campaign. It will take time and effort to work up a passion against the likable Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) no matter how leftist he really is.But is facing off against Clinton really so important to GOP hopes that a matchup between John McCain and Barack Obama spells doom?
Apparently so. Or at least, somebody at the GOP house organ Fox News thinks so. An alert contributor to Ohio Daily Blog, czawadzki, noticed something peculiar about the file name for this graphic displayed on their site, showing McCain and Obama after their victories in the Potomac Primaries a few days ago:

Polls show Obama is better against McCain than the Clintons, here's one:
"Gallup poll, conducted Feb. 8-10, shows that McCain leads Hillary Clinton by one point, 49% to 48%, in a hypothetical general-election matchup among likely voters. He trails Barack Obama by four points, 46% to 50%.
If democrats want to win, it's OBAMA.
Hilarious discoveries like this is one reason I heart the internet. Thanks for the guffaw!
We'll have a choice - old, tired, not-so-bright warmonger or young, energetic, intelligent problem-solver. You do the math. Let's see a matchup between McCain and Obama. Let the fur fly!
Another adjective you should add to the youngster is "vapid".
Thanks for that. That's the best news I've heard all day.
Clinton and McCain hold the same suit and McCain has the higher card in that suit.
