Obama Canvasser Punched in the Face
A woman canvassing for Obama in Wisconsin was punched in the face by a man ranting about ACORN. The woman was part of a canvassing effort organized by friends of mine. As we were about to go on stage for Oobleck Election Play 2008: The Trojan Candidate, a friend of our lighting designer who was in the same canvassing group called and told her the story.
The silver lining is that when the woman who had been assaulted returned to Chicago, there was already a voicemail message from Barack Obama expressing his sorrow that she had had to go through such an experience.
That's it. McCain supporters are dicks. The usual gang of conservative bigmouths are inciting violence with their propaganda, and the suckers who want desperately to believe are so frustrated with the lack of believability of the propaganda that they're lashing out with violence and violent rhetoric.
Meanwhile, Obama has such a great organization that he heard about this small incident and contacted the victim before the end of the day.

I guess I missed this one but perhaps a Texas woman in Pittsburgh to work for the McCain campaign didn't. I suppose getting not only 'punched' but also 'cut (well, it looks more liked scraped) on her face trumps this report. But...but.
She made it all up, there was no assault, no robbery, no scary,dyslexic black man carving up anyones face... it was all a complete lie.
This is a perfect example of the type of coward that supports the McCain Palin ticket. To hit a woman in the face is beyond comprehens
McCain is a liar who has sold his soul to the devil in an attempt to be Mr. President. He is a little man with a little mind, ands a serious case of little man disease. As bad as Bush is, McCain is worse. He stands for absolutely nothing. He lacks any ethics, any decency, any semblence of goodness.
His running mate, Sarah Palin is basically as dumb as a box of rocks. How John McCain can sleep at night knowing the danger he potentially put our country in with that selection is a real question. In just a few more days we can put these ignorant and racist jerks out of our minds and join President Obama as we fix all the damage done by 8 years of the most derisive administration in history...
This story needs to hit mainstream news before the violence gets any worse.
I'm not surprised at all by any of this. I remember way back in the early days of the primary race, seeing the threat Obama posed to so many powerful people - politicians, lobbyists & the corporations they represent, & so many people who depend on the current corrupt system for their way of life. Also the people who've invested their entire worldview in the GOP mythology. Even though it seems these "Joe the Plummer" people are obviously voting against their own interests, you have to understand the power of the worldview. People will give up almost anything else in life in order to maintain their worldview. Well, those people will - the type of people who cling to their worldview.
I foresaw back then the backlash that would happen if Obama got close to the presidency. These people will not give up - ever. They will throw everything they have at keeping this CHANGE from happening. It will only get worse over the next 2 weeks. Don't let your guard down, people. Keep pushing. We need this to be a landslide, in order to convince these people that this change is inevitable & force them into accepting it.

Assault is a crime. I agree, it ought to be prosecuted aggressively, especially when committed with the intent of depriving us of our rights to political speech, the type of speech the First Amendment was primarily written to protect.

Whats with all the lies, name calling, and smears? Folks, JMcshame and Palin2 need to prove to us their own intentions and actions which appear to indicate their own deep advocacy of Socialistic realisms. There's a great embodiment of American Values- Hitting a woman who is doing nothing more and nothing less than using her right (and fulfilling her duty) to take part in the election process.

I want to know if charges were press against this person. Was he arrested? People are getting so vicious. Yesterday, someone left a death threat on our car's windshield while we were shopping (we have Obama stickers on our car). I went home and put another sticker on so now our car has three. A man hit a woman? He didn't have the balls to hit another man? Either way it's inappropriate, but it's worse for a man to hit a woman. I am so impressed that Obama called the woman himself to apologize. He's a real man and a candidate that I am so proud to be voting for.
My thoughts exactly. This is why our daughters are taking martial arts. They have been instructed to "knock someone into next week" should that person strike or attempt to strike them first, ESPECIALLY a man.
