One of the secrets to making delicious pizza at home: a ripping-hot oven. You just can't fake a hot oven.

Here's a trick that can help you fool your oven into getting much hotter than the oven dial will allow. We placed some thermometers around the oven to see how far we could push the needle.

Cook your pizza directly on a ceramic baking stone on the lowest oven rack. The stone helps heat retention and draws moisture from the dough to give you that perfectly crispy crust.
