Jennifer Brookland received a degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and studied abroad in West Africa. She then conducted felony-level criminal investigations as a Special Agent with the Air Force. She was based in North Carolina, Maryland, and East Africa. The greatest culture shock came from North Carolina. Jennifer attended journalism school at Columbia University and was awarded by the Overseas Press Club Foundation.
