Not too long ago, a green career meant giving up the good life -- taking a meager salary at an environmental nonprofit, for instance, or forgoing hot showers and other modern conveniences to collect soil samples in the middle of the Arctic tundra. (Not that there's anything wrong with either of those choices; we here at HuffPost Green love an adventurous and self-sacrificing spirit in the name of Mother Earth.)
But the times they are a-changin': Green jobs growth has eclipsed other sectors by nearly 250 percent over the last decade, and the green economy is expected to make significant gains by the 2012 Economic Census, despite the recession. It's now possible to forge one's passion for the planet with any number of vocations, and -- more importantly -- make a successful living at it.
Want proof? Check out 10 of the more than 50 amazing women featured in the new book Hot, Rich & Green: The Secret Formula Women Are Using to Get Rich and Save the Planet, by women's green business guru Rebecca Harrell Tickell. Yes, they're environmentalists, (and I'm honored to be one of them) but among them are scientists and small business owners; authors and actors; designers and even doulas. They're making money, making a difference, and looking pretty darn good while doing it, too.

But do they know how to fetch coffee?
anyhow, sorry they cant read the sarcasm.. ( lol.. or sorry for YOU if these are not meant to be ironic comments.)
(but i'm pretty sure they are...on account of the analysis tucked into both comments)
.y'know,.. on account of the class war.
maybe one of them would like to commission a ridiculously and intentionally overpriced mural or painting with a deep ecology theme.
it says "hot rich and green"
next article idea;
"hot, rich, green, single"
ideally, i don't think i am gonna look at another of these unless it is called;
"BRILLIANT MILITANT hot rich green-anarchist canadian dentists who play the cello, "
CLICK on that one.
and hurry!
;)
Rich, accomplished and hot women like these don't have shortage of admiring men and suitors, if they're single. It's beneath them and other women who read this column to take your bait. Let's hope you're joking, tongue in cheek. Otherwise, your out-of-place demeaning crude comment is going to give other guys a bad rap too. These women are assertive leaders. Most women don't appreciate gratuitous crude remarks. Anonymity on Huffpost does not mean license to abandon all personal standards.
though i am very much an animal rights advocate, i have never been a fan of peta due the thier seeming eagerness to commodify women and womens sexuality as a device supposedly intended to address the commodification of life. . luckily, this is a predominant feature mostly of the "GREEN (tm)" --(greenWASH) culture and not an attribute of grassroots green culture.. and therefore serves as somethng of a 'flag' for spurious 'green-capitalism".. that sort of noise.
"CONCERT UNDER THE STARS" (in 3 parts, due to menu size constraints).
The concert is best appreciated in sequence from beginning to end, because the entirety of the parts tell a narrative musical story or poetry, with a theme "Passage to Reverie":
Here is Part 3 of 3 (other parts can be found in my comments history -- I hope you listen to all parts :-)

They are role models and inspirations. Be the change. I love my electric bike and have been a yogi and vegetarian for 5 years now. Feel better that ever.
Let's turn this thing in the right direction. Peace.
They console themselves with small concessions that would be luxuries to most others.
In the practical sense - spot-on.
She's the only one I selected as she knows what it takes for turning the Earth back to a balanced zone.
"I realize you are highly qualified and accomplished, may I see your legs?"
Hollywood & the media has done a great disservice to society & women by always selling the object, lowering the standards and promoting the bimbos as if they were the standard...There have always been great women throughout time, now some of them get to Shine...
I don't see anything about "Independent Leaders" anywhere near that headline. This is not about leaders, it's about Huffpost getting us to flip through the pictures to increase their pageviews.
I win!
Its about time women are Honored in the right light for the right reasons...
In Honor of all of You: I am Woman
