Director of Publishing for an independent Los Angeles publisher, Jennifer Havenner is an advocate of social activists looking to create meaningful and positive change. Established in 2008, Jennifer and her husband started The Way Things Are Publications as way to focus on socially relevant work. The company is a culmination of her passion for literature, publishing, philosophy, and creativity. Jennifer’s years in theatre production and education cultivated a unique and insightful expertise on literature and authors that evolved into an altruistic need to support important work that is too often ignored by the mainstream industry.

Jennifer is dedicated to using The Way Things Are Publications to increase awareness and distribution of independent authors with important and pertinent messages.
Additionally, Jennifer is pushing for change within the publishing industry by insisting upon socially and environmentally responsible technologies and distribution methods. Using the company as a platform, Jennifer challenges the antiquated and wasteful practices of the publishing world with modern and intelligent solutions.

Jennifer lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son. In addition to The Way Things Are Publications, she continues work in education with inner city high school students.
