good post... we all need to keep shouting this until they wake up.
What the hell?
Highly unusual circumstances have doused you with exaggerated powers that affect the entire world. And I think it's gone straight to your collective heads. What are 212 (?) of you doing? Milking it.
Al Gore I can understand. I mean after all if he committed his vote to Obama, it would be like a big fuck you to his ex-boss's wife. (One I'm sure some part of his very decent, do-the-right-thing psyche wouldn't mind making, but he's not that kind of guy.)
But my God Christine Pelosi? Her very own mother who is Speaker of the House can't even convince her to do the right thing and come out with her commitment?
At least President Carter has said his entire family is voting for Obama. But if he's going to say that much, why not just come on out and say you are too?
This thing needs to end. We desperately need to focus on the General.
How can you guys live with yourselves all day every day while this thing drags on?
Now we--hopefully a large number of responsible democrats-- have to take time out to antagonize each of you with a deluge of phone calls and e-mails.
Why not just do the right thing? Are you hoping for a more dramatic story to tell your grandchildren?
Thanks for the extra super long list of things to do today.
Jennifer

I'm sick of these spineless SD's. They know this thing is over, prolonging it just gives them a sense of power over us somehow. Uhhhhhh............I don't know whose worse right now, the Clintons or the undecided SD's..................................sorry, I'm just so frustrated by their lack of moral fortitude.
Is it possible that a number of the remaining super-delegates--like millions of other Americans--don't actually think Senator Obama would be a good President? Yes, the rabid quarter of the electorate who loves him will brook no discussion on the subject, but that doesn't mean that the super-delegates are going to be forced to go along with the opinions of the people who are the most noisy.
Recent polls show that the "rabid quarter" has grown into a majority.
Unless you read out loud, or get HuffPosts on tape, noise isn't very accurate either.
Whoever the winner is, I hope thier first act as president is to do away with this ridiculous system.
There will be a backlash from suppoeters of the failed candidate after the supers endorse it is only a matter of when it will occur. What is to be concidered is if by waiting it's strength may be weaker, and when the DNC, the supers and the presumtive nominee want to deal with it, in June, July and Aug or in Aug, Sept, Oct. and Nov.
I agree with you 200% Jennifer. This superdelagate crap has go to go. They are inflated. They are subject to human weaknesses, such as bribery. They look, right now, as another branch of corruption we have seen the past years under Bush. They are NOT qualified to decide an election for the people, who in good faith took themselves to the polls in huge numbers to finally participate in an election where their vote , to them, means something.
Apparently this superdelagates think of themselves as the elite, in whose hands the nominee will be elected in this primary. I say, do away with this bunch. They are useless, oprn to corruption and bribery and think far too much of themselves and no one gave them the power to overturn an elected person in the primary. Just take this crap out of the platform, DNC and congress critters. It's questionable, upsetting to the electorate and the candidate who won fair and square, without throwing the refrigerator or the kitches sink.
A bigger group of cowards it is impossible to find than these so called superdelegates. Please wake up and save the day!
The SD's are looking after their own interest politics as usual.

My understanding was the Supers were created to avoid just the kind of thing we have going on right now. They were to step in and end a fight already decided that continued only to damage the winner.
Wow, where did you get that understanding? They were created to overrule the choice of the people if that candidate could not win the GE. It's because McGovern only carried one state in 1972 and everyone knew he was going to lose.
Hmmm, so you want the superdelgates to change the rules midstream because you want them to pledge themselves to Obama, but you don't want the rules changed midstream so that the votes of the citizens of Florida and Michigan which were stripped from them by their legislatures (no matter who they were going to vote for) may be counted? Guess rule changing is only bad when it could benefit "the other side." I'm sure you are aware that a superdelgate may commit and uncommit and commit again right up until the final vote at the convention, right? All those "supers" who have committed to either Hillary OR Obama may uncommit and commit to the other candidate any time they wish if they determine that one or the other is unelectable. Their purpose is to determine the ELECTABILITY of a candidate in the general election, not to follow along with the general populace. Other people besides Democrats will be voting in the General Election.
I don't care for either of these candidates OR McCain . . . I think they are the worst slate of candidates I've ever seen, but I will vote for either of the Democratic candidates over McCain. You'd better hope and pray that the Democratic candidate who is nominated is electable. Our country can't survive a McCain presidency or the continuation of the disastrous Bush policies.
No rule changes necessary for SD's to declare and end this.
Just for fun, who do you think would be good candidates?
It may tell us a lot. Being against everybody doesn't.
MzTexas, what rules related to the superdel are you refering to exactly?
Where is the rule that says super delegates must wait? Why are you trying to state that it would be a rule change? Clinton does not care about any rules, she has repeatedly tried to circumvent them and changed course in her speakings to attempt to change rules.
The super delegates are free to endorse whomever they want at anytime they want. Don't try and characterize that as a rules change.
