Jeremy started his career in advertising, but left the agency world in 2005 and co-founded Urban Hostess, a corporate relocation company that builds privatized relocation microsites for New York’s largest financial firms. Abelson is responsible for negotiating contracts with JPMorgan, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Bank of America, Bain and Company and more.

Leveraging the captive audience base from Urban Hostess, Abelson created Pocket Change an e-publication covering luxury items in New York and LA. Pocket Change grew rapidly to include an e-newsletter, broadband video channel and blog. Through Pocket Change Abelson attracted promotional clients including AmEx, Bravo, Absolut Vodka, Warner Brothers and SilverJet. As principal Abelson consistently delivered branded multi-platform viral campaigns that created buzz and attracted mass visibility.

Abelson’s client campaigns have been featured on the Today Show, CNN, MSNBC, Fox Business News, The Wall Street Journal, Dr. Phil Show, Good Morning America and many more. Recognized for its innovative control of social media, interactive marketing and viral strategy, Pocket Change was acquired by thelab in 2008.

Jeremy now runs a family office and manages a long short equity fund while participating in additional non-market investment opportunities.

Abelson is a regular speaker at the Media Summit New York, Columbia Business School and NYU.

Jeremy graduated from the University of Michigan and is originally from Silicon Valley.
