Jeremy J. Stone was President, Federation of American Scientists
(1970-2000) and is now President of Catalytic Diplomacy. He is the
author of a life memoir: Every Man Should Try: Adventures of a Public
Interest Activist
(1999, PublicAffairs). In 1998-99, he restarted
scientific exchange with Iran between the two National Academies and, in
2004, he persuaded the Khatami Government to invite a U.S. Government
official, Librarian of Congress James Billington, to Iran.
