This past Sunday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge swept into New York City for a whirlwind three-day trip. They met Jay-Z, Beyonce and LeBron James at a Brooklyn Nets versus Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball game in Brooklyn. The couple hit the British Consul General's Residence to attend a wildlife benefit with Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and her husband Marc Mezvinsky. Price William even flew with commoners on a U.S. Airways shuttle for a quick stop in Washington DC (fellow DC to NYC passenger, Anderson Cooper, tweeted about it) for a confab with President Obama in the Oval Office.

But where are the royals sleeping in the city that never sleeps? Following in his mother's footsteps, Prince William (and Duchess Kate) are ensconced at The Carlyle, a Rosewood hotel. Set in Manhattan's posh Upper East Side, the 35-floor hotel has been a New York icon since 1930. It's a glamorous getaway for a vast assortment of the famous and infamous including Jackie Gleason, Frank Sinatra, Audrey Hepburn, Mick Jagger, Sophia Loren, George Harrison, Dustin Hoffman and George Clooney.
