Here's the lyrics-remember I only had one day to write the song. But I meant every word of it. Oh, also check out my pal Eban who brought in his Theremin:
Halloween was my favorite holiday but in these last few years
Something so terrible has filled me with fear.
It's not the razor in the apple; no I heard that never happened
No, it's something much worse
It's women whose Halloween costume is just that they're slutty
That's not a costume at all. What happened to Witches and monsters?
They left the Halloween Ball
Just putting kitten ears on your head is not creative.
A skimpy black dress is not very scary--unless you're Ann Coulter
Stiletto heels are not that special unless worn by a man
I'm not a prude, but I'm not a fan....of
Women whose Halloween costume is just that they're slutty
That's not a costume at all. What happened to Witches and monsters?
They left the Halloween Ball
Okay, maybe if you play a dead prostitute from say Jack the ripper days or maybe a zombie whore from outer space. But the naughty devil outfit in lingerie? Well, that's...just not good
Oh, the song is also on

I admire our progress in deciding that Puritanical dress is no longer necessary for a woman to be a good person. If the alternatives for women are to dress in skimpy costumes whenever they want or dress in Burqas, for instance, I know where I come down.
Honestly, the fact that women show some skin now and again is a tribute to our liberation, both male and female. Some women might use festivals and other occasions to try becoming less repressed, and many men enjoy their efforts without becoming depraved. It was not always so.
Moralists need to focus on anything but how women choose to dress, and they might consider confining their fatwahs against corporate bodies rather than the corporeal bodies of American women. American women are the brightest, athletically advanced, most educationally developed in the world, and they may dress like Paris Hilton without sharing her sad lack of direction.
hallloween is a time for women to dress like sluts and men to dress like women!
I'm a young guy and even I sorta agree. I enjoy seeing all the girls in skimpy outfits don't get me wrong, but I have to laugh at them too. They don't exactly earn my respect for creativity. At some point it changed and now girls treat Halloween or any costume party as just an excuse to dress as slutty as they possibly can.
Halloween used to be about good ol' fun and wild costumes and cool ideas, and not this permanent quest for as much lustful attention as possible. It was always fun to see what people would think up, now it's mainly only guys doing that and girls all go as playboy bunnies.
again, seeing all the skin is enjoyable for me. But I wouldn't mind to see girls with some real creativity and Halloween spirit come back. I'm not gonna be any less attracted, and you won't look so much like just another cheap lay.
Less than 10 years ago, when I was in college, women could still find great costumes that were both attractive AND non-slutty. I think girls are just getting lazy.
This reminded me of the scene in Mean Girls where Lindsey Lohan's character went as the dead bride and all the other girls were variations on Playboy Bunnies or Centerfolds.
Your tune reminds me of something I recently heard that was a bit startling, but obvious on reflection. It was about swimwear fashion, how over the decades the fashion trends weren't being pushed by big designers but by teenage girls who persisted in pushing to the edge of 'acceptibility', whatever the standard at the time. The trends towards 'sluttiness' isn't a top-down phenomenon but is being driven entirely by the consumer! Teen 'sluttiness' is 'girlpower' in another form - Its heady stuff, the ability of a 110 lb girl to make a big-strong man weak in the knees ;)
I giggled when someone told of hearing Paris Hilton say she had been in a "whore film". The Simpering One actually said "horror film" in a California accent.
I wonder when the change happened. Most women just get slutted out on Halloween but it wasn't always like that. I wonder when it happened.
So Halloween is only for scary costumes then? I'm just asking because I guess I missed that page in the book of Halloween rules. I was gonna be a Democrat tonight. I suppose I'll have to be a Republican.

My Halloween Song: Women Whose Costume is Just that They're Slutty

"A skimpy black dress is not very scary -- unless you're Ann Coulter."
MEOW!! I love it.
Jill, where have you been? Cinnamon Park is such a great song!
On this matter I couldn't agree with you more. Its the Paris Hilton effect!
Huh. I heard "I Kissed a Girl" on the radio the other day and was wondering what you'd been up to lately. I'm glad to see you're still productive.
As for the topic, I'm going to risk coming across like a holier-than-thou prude and say, I agree completely. It's possible to be sexy and creative, but so few aspire to this while so many men dress in a way that at least attempts to show some wit. I wonder if this trend has contributed to the downturn of costuming at the office. If all you can find in the stores is a ticket to a he said/she said sexual harassment claim and don't have the time to do something more creative, why risk it?
Love it!! And I second that! Everyday styles are making young women look like the whores of yesteryear anyway (and are whores upset that people can't distinguish them from the rest anymore? Are they losing money through bad fashion trends? I digress... ), so what's the point of doing it for Halloween? Come on, be creative!
It's the sands of the time really. Been to a club lately? The "average Jane" now dresses up and dances like she was stuck to a pole in a strip club!!!
As for Coulter she has been rechristened as Anny Slutter!!!
I don't know about all that Jill, I went to a party this weekend and have another on tap tonight and I was darned "impressed" with some of the women.
It's their chance to get crazy once a year. Harmless fun, it is. Anyway, they put on a lot less at the beach. If they got it, I say flaunt it. :)
I like your take much better then: Dispatch from the Heart of Slutty Halloween by Kathleen Nye Flynn.
You are at lest speaking to the laziness of the costumes. Much better then moral judgements.
