Jill Soloway is the author of Tiny Ladies in Shiny Pants, a funny/dirty/sad collection of essays that some are calling a womanifesto, published by Free Press/Simon & Schuster in hardcover in September 2005, and paperback in October of 2006.

Jill is in pre-production to direct her first feature film, Tricycle. Marc Platt and Universal Pictures are producing. It's a dark comedy or a light dramedy, on the topic of infidelity from the perspective of three different women.

Jill recently finished writing the screenplay for Pledged, a comedy about sorority life from Paramount and the producers of Mean Girls, loosely based on the Alexandra Robbins book.

For four years Jill was a writer and, ultimately, Co-Executive Producer of HBO's Six Feet Under. She joined the staff for the second season after working on TV sitcoms The Oblongs, Baby Blues and Nikki.

Jill started off doing theater with her sister Faith in Chicago, where they created the generation-defining stage phenomenon, The Real Live Brady Bunch, which eventually played at the Village Gate in New York City, The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, and toured the country and the world. She and her sister also created, directed and performed hit in plays The Miss Vagina Pageant and Not Without My Nipples. It may have been during this period Jill learned that putting something dirty in the title often can provoke interest and press.

Jill also created Sit n' Spin, a a twice-monthly, standing-room-only night of comedic monologues and music called Sit n' Spin. The show is now being produced by Jaclyn Lafer and Maggie Rowe, and runs every other Thursday at the Comedy Central Workspace in Los Angeles.
