10 Reasons To Not Reform Health Care

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

1) Insurance executives are people, too. Ha-ha! Just kidding!

2) Just about everybody is against health care reform, except for the 85% of Americans who polls show are for it.

3) We should let Canada be better than us in something.

4) Cutting Pfizer's profits sounds fine and dandy until the Viagra shortage hits home.

5) American Medical Association endorsed reform, but what do doctors know about health care?

6) Doesn't President Obama understand he was elected to keep everything the same?

7) Emergency rooms need more business from the uninsured. Those places are empty.

8) Cutting health care costs removes incentive to not get sick.

9) The government should stay out of the health care business. Except for Medicare. And public hospitals. And research.

10) What's the big deal? I feel fine!

I just want a tax credit that will cover about 12% of my health care needs and the ability to cross state lines to get my coverage. Because that seems easier. Or something.

The Do Nothings " Country First Congress

Let’s look at what they have done from 1994-2006

Just look at what the C- Street U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering (R-MS) did for the country and the telecommunication industry.

He was the man- the man - for our telecommunications.

In the House, Pickering specialized in telecommunications issues, including one dear to Cellular South: making sure Congress took into account the interests of cellular companies serving rural areas.

Governor Sanford of SC emailed his mistress stating internet connection is unreliable at his farm.

Wonder why we can’t compete globally? Just like Healthcare?

I guess this is acceptable for the Republicans. "

Wonder why JAPAN offers the World’s fastest broadband and we do not?

Telecommunications Lobbying created their oligopolies, (monopolies are illegal in USA)

4-3-09-By Saul Hansell
The fastest consumer broadband in the world is the 160-megabit-per-second service offered by J: Com, the largest cable company in Japan.

The cable modem needed for that speed costs about $60, compared with about $30 for the current generation.

By contrast, Verizon is spending an average of $817 per home passed to wire neighborhoods for its FiOS fiber optic network and another $716 for equipment and labor in each home that subscribes, according to Sanford C. Bernstein & Company.

Does the governor care that rural South Carolina has unreliable internet?

Obama ran on Broadband coast to coast- FYI- Obama won.

Obama ran on Healthcare Reform coast to coast- FYI- Obama won.

No reform would be better than the convoluted mess being proposed by the President.

Here is a better way to go.

Real reform that would serve every individual asking for public care with totally free care and medications, funded by a national sales tax, distributed through government owned and operated hospitals and clinics, and would relieve businesses of all health care obligations, financial, record keeping, everything eliminated, would be healthy for everyone and the greatest national economic stimulus ever.

A new dual choice system, you choose, either public, or private if you like what you have keep it, would save the government hundreds of billions annually distributing all government funded services through public facilities, and government savings would be even larger compared to spending called for in the new proposed reform boondoggles.

All government mandated programs could be distributed through government hospitals at a fraction of the costs spent now by taxpayers to private systems.
