This past weekend wasn't just the unofficial start of summer; it's the official start of Pride season. In the coming month the sunlight will not only stay out longer but cities will start flying the rainbow flag to celebrate their LGBT communities.

Pride celebrates our freedom and promotes equality in this great country (thank you, Stonewall rioters.) With support for marriage equality at an all time high, Dan Savage's The Real O'Neals getting the green light, and an openly gay man leading one of the worlds largest companies, the LGBT community has plenty of reasons to be proud.

Start researching your Pride getaway here. And then pack your bags and let your flag fly high.

Quick tip: Some of the dates listed below are for the actual Pride parades, but LGBT events fill the calendar in the days and weeks before.

Pride Highlights:

Jersey Pride Celebration (Asbury Park) - June 7, 2015
Get ready to pump your fists with the Jersey boys and girls. Just don't try to mess with Jersey Pride.

LA Pride (West Hollywood) - June 12-14, 2015
This is one of the hottest places around to show off your LGBT pride. In WeHo, it's mostly about being seen, so apply lots of social lubricant and you'll pop that Pride cherry in no time.

NYC Pride - June 23-28, 2015
I recognize that New York City is an obvious choice but I think everyone should experience Pride in a very large city--I'm talking an expected crowd of 1.7 million people large. Just imagine all the Grindr and Jack'd messages you'll get.
