I am unsure how my girlfriend and I will ever be taken seriously as a monogamous partnership when the media is laden with females that want attention by 'acting' like they are bisexual just to procure some publicity. It is not hip / trendy / sexy to pretend you are into girls... there are people struggling daily with their sexuality/relationships. I find this slideshow repugnant towards woman. Clearly just another way to objectify and not take woman and their relationships seriously.

Huffington Post! I fail to see how transgender individuals are considered lesbians! This is not only irresponsible journalism, but extremely offensive! It only furthers public perception that our identities as trans people are not valid!

Ok, I was somewhat enjoying this until it turned Transphobic and denied the reality that Chaz Bono is a *MAN* and his relationships are not Lesbian.

Chaz breaking up with a woman is NOT a Lesbian Scandal. How are we T people going to get supported if the rest of the LGBT community denies we are the gender we are?

I have an honest question for and I'm really not trying to be sarcastic at, but since you're transgender, I'm really curious about your answer: Before Chaz got his surgery, he had been with his girlfriend for several years as a woman. Obviously, his girlfriend was a lesbian. When Chastity became Chaz, clearly, his girlfriend did not just suddenly become straight, right? Would you consider Chaz's girlfriend a lesbian, still?

Hi Cherry. It took a long time for your comment to get posted. I waited and waited last night from when I could see it while it was pending until it was up and it never was. So I'm now glad it is here and I can respond. ::smile::

A person's orientation is not dependent upon whom they are in relationship with. Many Gay and Lesbian people are in opposite sex marriages because they didn't feel they could accept who they were and let the pressures of a heterosexual normative society shape whom they got in relationship with. Yet they are still Gay or Lesbian.

Now when a Transgender person hasn't transitioned the Transgender person appears to be one sex while inside is the other gender. So the TG woman, who still lives as a man, who is married to a women is inside experiencing a Lesbian type attraction. But in most cases the wife is straight and experiencing a Straight attraction. When the spouse then transitions the wife may find herself able to continue to love her now wife. She may still identify as straight, although it is obvious she is now in a Lesbian relationship Some people can not do this and the sexual aspects of the relationship has to end.
