The Obama Coalition Belongs to Bernie Sanders

Only one candidate running in this year's election can carry America forward and deliver the change that allowed Barack Obama to win the presidency twice and that is no question Bernie Sanders.

The Obama Coalition.

Almost mythological in power and voracity.

Able to electrify electorates with a sweeping dose of charged rhetoric.

Able to leap establishment figures in a surprising and energized bound.

Made of every color, gender, age group, all with two simple creeds: change and forward.

Only one candidate running in this year's election can carry America forward and deliver the change that allowed Barack Obama to win the presidency twice and that is no question Bernie Sanders.

You might not believe in that change or progress, but if you do, if you were part of the Obama coalition, Bernie Sanders is your man. Hillary Clinton no matter how hard she tries cannot hold together the Obama coalition. And one almost gets the sense President Obama knows it.

Joe Biden might have held it together, but that didn't work out.

Even though Bernie Sanders is a 74-year-old white male hailing from a rural state it should be obvious to anyone with a keen eye that the "Obama Coalition" of 2007-08, the grassroots liberal base of the Democratic party, the people with energy, motivation and reckless enthusiasm are quite energized for the self-called "socialist" from Vermont and they could totally help him win.

Especially in Iowa which then leads to New Hampshire a neighboring state of Vermont.

President Obama promised so much hope and change in 2007-08 -- let's not forget he filled football stadiums to deliver his message with such vigor and booming rhetoric. If you asked many who supported Obama in the early days to put the president's two terms in perspective, many might admit the hope and change and excitement promised didn't live up to expectations.

That's not to say they would call the Obama presidency a failure. There absolutely was progress, yet even the president himself admitted a regret that he wasn't able to unite the country as a result of a Republican lead Congress hell bent on saying no to anything Obama wanted.

Still, progress was made in increments.

Bernie Sanders is the only one who could build on that progress moving forward.

His primary message of income inequality is the issue of our generation.

His progressive stance on political financial reform is the answer to fixing our broken system.

His views on climate change, civil rights, health care and education are the right answers.

That is if you pay attention, think for yourself and don't live in fear.

This is a year where the electorate does not want an establishment candidate. Just look at the Republican front runners for evidence. Why would it be any different on the other side of the ticket?

Senator Sanders may be a seasoned politician, but his message and beliefs are completely anti-establishment and legitimately represent the will of the people, whether they know it or not.

Hillary Clinton no matter how hard she tries will never have the charisma of Obama or her husband, nor will her rhetoric inspire a message of legitimate change. You get the sense it will be more of the same with Hillary. Plus she's just too contrived, phony and well-oiled a politician.

The liberal media, mainly MSNBC, seem really focused on a coronation for Hillary. And yes, you could argue she is the most experienced, as a Senator and former Secretary of State. And sure, having the first female president would be awesome. But what those in the mainstream corporate media can't see is that they are part of the problem, living in Ivory towers, earning top one-percent to five-percent salaries. Everyone in the 95 percent to 99 percent income brackets, like everyone in this country, if they could stay focused on the issue of income inequality and not get distracted by wedge issues like gun control and international security, watch out for Sen. Bernie Sanders.

You can feel it. And Hillary better watch out. She's going to need to move too far to the left for her own good thus essentially only further creating a perception of phoniness.

Bernie Sanders is for real because his message is the legitimate message of change.

And he's owned it forever!

But are we smart enough as an electorate to hear it?

As an ex-Vice Presidential candidate once famously said: you betcha.
