Joanne Naiman (nycdivorcemediator.com) has been a practicing attorney for over 20 years. She is a certified mediator with a private practice in divorce mediation. She also serves as a consultant mediator for the New York City Family Court mediation panel.

As a divorce lawyer, Joanne has seen firsthand the stress and acrimony that
can come from litigating divorces in court. Her Clarion award-winning
article, “The Deadly Practice of Divorce,” highlighted a series of courtroom
shootings in child custody cases. As a divorce mediator, Joanne values the
opportunity of helping couples divide their assets, decide child support and
maintenance and work out custody in a process that’ s fair, non-adversarial
and less stressful to the parties and their children.

Joanne received her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and
an M.S.J. with honors from Columbia University’ s Graduate School of
Journalism.
