LGBT Alaskans on Palin: Worse than Cheney -- and a Better Shot

In a Tuesday night interview with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin trotted out the old right-wing code word: she said being gay is a "choice".

We know Palin's got a laundry list of anti-LGBT positions. But we wondered: what do LGBT people in her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska think of her? So last week, we went up there to find out.

What they told us speaks volumes.

Our staff met dozens of LGBT people in Wasilla. And while many were afraid to talk on camera, we learned a lot about how life changed for the LGBT Wasillans after Sarah Palin became mayor.

I doubt it when you look at the "recidivism" rate of "cured homosexuality" and the suicide rates for those who just can't seem to "pray hard enough"... what an extreme abuse of religion!

Have any teachers actually lost their job because they were gay?

Ultimately this video didn't show any books being removed from any public library.
Actually lots of books don't make it into public libraries mostly because they don't have enough room for all of them.
Churches pursuing gay reeducatio­n...there'­s that church and state separation thing.

Barack's church history about protecting gays is kind of sketchy too. Although there is a the story the gay choirmaster Donald Young who was murdered last year in December.

Thank you for this story. Sarah Palin's skewed worldview is so frightening for me as a straight woman. I can't even imagine the nervousness felt by the LGBT community.
