When Rock Bands and Kid Shows Collide

What's Your Reaction:

Are your kids ready for KISS? No matter, because Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and company are ready for your kids. Word is out that the timeless rock band is developing a half-hour comedy for kids. This isn't KISS' first foray into kids TV; self-promotional genius Simmons has already appeared in a number of children's shows and specials.

Also getting into the act is the band Devo, which whipped up a performance of "Watch Us Work It" on Yo Gabba Gabba last week. Try to detect it. It's not too late. And of course, Sesame Street has hosted many grown-up bands in its history, including REM, *NSYNC, Destiny's Child, En Vogue, Goo Goo Dolls, Spin Doctors, and Black Sabbath. Wait -- one of those might be a mistake.

With all of this rock-to-tot crossover going on, I'm wondering what other well-known musical acts might see the kids space as a way to expand their fan base. A few suggestions:

Graduation Day! with Kanye West
Kanye West surprises high school graduation ceremonies across America by running onstage during the valedictory speech to show love for the salutatorian.

Goin' Gaga
Lady Gaga performs fashion makeovers for kids using only school supplies and adhesive material found in their lockers.

Adams' Family
Pooling their talents, Adam Ant and Adam Lambert visit unsuspecting families in the bible belt to teach makeup tricks to their sons and daughters. (Well, sons mostly.)

Puff, Daddy
In this touching documentary series, Puff Daddy talks to young rappers with bronchially-challenged fathers.
