At age 28, Joelle Caputa found herself jobless, husbandless and starting her life over from scratch. Fun times. No, really. Rock bottom was definitely a rancid place to exist, however, Joelle chose to dance in the dirt. Having hit the big 3-0 with a smile on her face, Joelle is writing Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s to show women that the end of marriage in their 20s is just the beginning of the lives they were meant to lead.

A straight-edge pescatarian with chronic fatigue, Joelle never rests because she loves making a difference. When she’s not working 9-5 as an account executive for a healthcare public relations firm, Joelle is on a mission to save the tigers and find shelter dogs homes.

It’s no coincidence the phrase “stop dreaming, start something” is tattooed on Joelle’s back. Prior to earning her B.A. in Communication from William Paterson University, Joelle self-published a ‘zine and now, all-female staffed Internet TV show: Planet Verge, for which she has interviewed internationally acclaimed musicians including 30 Seconds to Mars, Butch Walker, Lostprophets and virtuoso violinist David Garrett. She also launched indie music PR firm, Audio Crush, where she has placed songs on leading airwaves from AOL Radio to MTV’s Jersey Shore.

Joelle gets their attention– and keeps it. During her varied and impressive career, Joelle has negotiated partnerships between companies, planned and promoted events, managed social media campaigns, designed promotional materials, held casting calls for the Animal Planet TV show “It’s Me or the Dog,” contributed articles to national magazines and produced video press kits.

She resides in New Jersey with her boyfriend and their two mixed breed dogs.
