I know, I know. It's wishful thinking, but I can dream, can't I? This isn't the first time the cowardly BillO has attacked Arianna and obviously it won't be his last. You see, the conservative media is a bit unnerved right now and are acting like fools, as is evident by this latest Factor smear. He's upset because some idiots left terrible remarks about Nancy Reagan on the HuffPo comment threads. Unfortunately it does happen on the Internet (including my website as well, CrooksandLiars) as much as we guard against it. Most sane people understand this fact.
You can see the video of BillO here.
O'Reilly: I have no respect for the woman. I think that she is hurting the country...O'Reilly: What's the difference between the KKK and Arianna Huffington? What's the difference?
Ham: I think there is a difference,.
O'Reilly: I don't see any difference between Huffington and the Nazis. It's her, It's her, It's her...I didn't say she's a Nazi.
Ham: Alright.
O'Reilly: There's no difference between what the two do.
Say, what? OMG. What the heck is he talking about? Yea, Bill, if Arianna actually had a hand in genocide, you poor ignorant fool---you might try to say they took similar actions, but let's look at you. O'Reilly says Americans should start holding people accountable for what they say, so I think BillO should have already been fired for saying this about Michelle Obama:
O'Reilly: "I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels...
And he still has a job? He has the audacity to compare Arianna to the KKK and then want to lynch Michelle Obama if he feels she wasn't jingoistic enough. Jesse Jackson brought up BillO's rant on MSNBC after Tuesday's debate and said that this type of rhetoric can lead to violent episodes in our country. Maybe that's what he's after.
I spoke with Arianna about it last night and she feels he really crossed the line. He's been crossing the line for years now, but nobody ever called him on it before the blogs showed up. Hey Bill, we're not going anywhere. I wonder if he'll go to Sylvia's and discuss lynching Michelle Obama over a late night meal with FOX's Juan Williams.
You may not agree with all of Arianna's politics, but where she's full of grace and elegance---O'Reilly is an angry, pathetic, right wing media parasite. Print that, Howard Kurtz!.
UPDATE: (Nicole) I don't think Billo knows who he's dealing with:
Arianna's courage comes from a mother who stood up when others would have run, a single Greek woman who faced down real Nazis, real soldiers with real guns, real Nazis who killed millions of innocent people and came close to destroying our world, not blowhards with a falafel.
Fire away Billy, I promise you that Arianna can take all you can dish out, and a hell of a lot more.

He should have been history after the lynching comment. The fact that he wasn't made me realize it just doesn't matter what he spews, he's not going anywhere. I respect Mr. Olbermann's opinion of Mr. O'Reilly. (You mean the lynching thing didn't piss you off enough? I know, let's try....hmm...Nazis! Yeah, Nazis....that's the ticket! That should rile everybody with an accent, and jab those Jews too...and a woman, it's a goddam pejorative BOGO!) Ho hum, Bill. We've learned to save our outrage for a battle where it really matters. Never mind the fact that Arianna could figuratively mop up the floor with Bill mano a mano, and walk away elegant and unruffled. The zen parable is nice, too.
In answer to your question, definitively, NO.
O'Reilly has mocked homeless vets, people with mental disabilities - the list is endless.
Our sensitivities and protectiveness towards Arianna is undertstandable, but the demons on Fake News have NO LIMITS.
I am sure their vile attacks will CERTAINLY persist.
To salve our wounds, take consolation in the fact that Keith Olbermann names this creton, O'REILLY, "Worst Person in the World" at least 3 times a week. Hopefully, this should offer some feeling of retribution.
The trick to watching OReilly et al is to understand it's all farce and then just watch for giggles. I am hard pressed to decide who is my favorite among his regular guests--Dick "Toe-Sucker" Morris whose unrequited love for the Clintons is palpable; that profoundly stupid man who does focus group stuff; or the blond who is described as a "professional" body language expert--presumably there are non-professional body language experts out there making it bad for the true pros!!!
Oy.
When does it stop being all giggles? When some mental case of a fan of Billo's shots someone?
I am a 65 year old gay man who has been the subject of hate crimes incited by lsuch statements of the same mind set. He does not give a darn about what he does with his language and he knows its hate language. The station that pays for his hate is the one who needs to be taken off the air forever, for they have gone beyond "free" speech concept and are in a realm requiring a jail sentence.
Why is anyone listening to him for anything other than comic relief? He is crafty though, he used to be a teacher, so he uses many codes words than closes with namecalling.
We can only hope with the election of a democratic president that the "Billo" and Tag Team match at the FOXX noise channel will dwindle into the unknown. Arianna is a strong person, and no matter how offensive his remarks are she will survive just fine. What is more important is that Billo is exposed for his true nature, and hopefully sooner or later will be held accountable by being fired.
Do you think the next president will stop the standing order requiring only Fox Channel News be play in all Military PX's around the world and in this country?
Look, I am far from being a Republican, but the "reason" O'Reilly gave for calling AH a nazi was because the actual post on this site wanted Nancy Reagan to die. That was O'Reilly's point. (Amato left that part out.)
Although I disagree with his use of the word Nazi - it brings up an interesting point. Is Arianna - or anyone else who hosts a site - responsible in any way for reprehensible postings? Or is it an absolute open forum where people have the freedom to post anything at all (including threats, "hate speech", slander, etc.)
Again, I think O'Reilly was wrong to use that language. But he does raise some vexing questions....
If he worked for any channel but Faux news, he'd have been fired long ago. I don't know what it will take, but his continued employment validates the scorn and derision that he, Ailes, and the channel constantly get.
HuffPost's Pick
A parable:
There is a holy man sitting under a tree, meditating, with
his begging bowl in front of him. As is the custom, many passing
people pay homage with some offering of food or wealth, according to
their means.
One ruffian, however, sees the holy man, and stops to taunt and abuse
him. After some time of hurled insults, the holy man opens his eyes
and gently beckons the man closer. Puzzled, the rogue approaches.
"If you bring me precious gold, and I do not accept it, whose gold is
it?" asked the wise man.
"Why, mine of course! If you do not want my gold, then it is still
mine," ansered the rogue.
"If you bring me lucious fruits as a gift, and I do not want them, to
whom do the fruits belong?"
"Why, they are mine, of course," came the reply.
"If you hurl insults at me," asked the holy man, " and I do not accept
them, to whom do they eventually return?" And he closed his eyes and
waited for the answer that never came.
Yes, this post is very literary and has a zen-like quality.
LOL, O'Reily is absurd! And yes, I found RidersontheStorm's post a perfect parable. Besides, they chose a great picture of Arianna, don't you think? Unlike the photos the media uses of Hillary Clinton, the one of Arianna in Bill's crazy rant was very complementary...
To whom it may concern,
I'm starting to thing O'Reilly has a point. If you've got people editing and censoring these posts why would comments celebrating the death of Nancy Reagan be posted? I've submitted several comments and only one has been posted. No profanity, no slander, all on point. Just critical of liberals. Tell me why O'Reilly is wrong?
O'Reilly is wrong because he is O'Reilly. O'Reilly rails against hate speech by comparing Ariana Huffington to a Nazi? Are you kidding?
there are moments when the moderator's take a break and the posts are not being reviewed. I bet that your comments may not be fit for children.
HuffPost's Pick
It's a blog. The Terms of Service are fairly clear. They are under no obligation to post your messages, whether you like it or not.
Furthermore, neither HuffPo nor Anyone Else represents The Liberals. We speak for ourselves, and represent ourselves. If you have a quarrel with HuffPo, your quarrel is with them, not The Liberals, or The Democrats, or any other group you would forge some bogus, nebulous guilt-by-association.
As to why your comments were not posted, that could be for many reasons. Perhaps you sumitted too many comments within a certain time period. Maybe your prior comments were considered off-topic, if they were merely generalized, "just critical of liberals."
I can't tell you why O'Reilley is wrong, if your mother and father didn't themselves, about 40 years ago. If you grew up without compassion, thinking that because you suffered, everyone else should, too, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to change your sorry state of mind.
" OH GOD, PLEASE FORGIVE PEOPLE LIKE O'RIELLY, LIMBAUGH AND HANNITY FOR THEY DON'T KNOW FOR WHOSE BENEFIT THEY ARE SAYING WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. AMEN. "
I'm not trying to be the PC police here but... *everyone* needs to chill out with the Nazi thing- including the commenters on this site and others who keep throwing it around to make a point about opposing candidates and their supporters.
Obama and his supporters are NOT acting like Nazis, nor are Clinton and McCain and their supporters. As a Jew I find the casual flinging about of this word highly offensive. Nobody's systematically rounding up, torturing and exterminating primary voters, people.
Same goes for the Jonestown Kool-Aid comments you guys. Don't forget that children were among the victims. If you think Obama supporters are acting cult-like then fine, just say so. And everyone needs to can it with the attacks on Clinton for the regrettable actions of her husband in their marriage. Please try not to get so wrapped up in this thing that we lose all sensitivity to the suffering of others.
As for the O'Reilly thing- I don't get it. Why is David Shuster off air for his "pimped out" comment (which was utterly offensive) but O'Reilly can threaten to "lynch" Michelle Obama and call Ms. Huffington a Nazi? Why do an of us, no matter who we support, stand for this kind of crap? Using our darkest and most painful moments to make quips about people we don't like is just gross. Cut it out everyone.
"Using our darkest and most painful moments to make quips about people we don't like is just gross."
My belief is that people are not well educated in how to express real ideas. And, people like o'reilly get lazy and try to just fill up their air time by stream of conscious gibberish rather than researched and well informed opinions.
Yes, O'Reilly's business is to attack those with well informed opinions.
Why the big to-do over what he says about Huffington? How about the vile things he's said, before, about other people? He's said worse. Let's not pretend that Huffington is a media "virgin".
Enough about that cowardly Olberman. Let's face it, anyone who smears, lies and attacks like Olberman should have the balls to debate. Olberman doesn't. Case closed.
Yes, since he lies so frequently, I am sure you can provide several examples. Thank you! Or would that be using too much Superlogic.
I think this new poster 'superlogic' is BillO himself.
He certainly comes off with an equal sophistication.
Dear Superlogic: You really must look things up at the web sites provided for us. The ones I speak of are those that are non partisan, and are only interested in pointing out the facts. The most well known one I would say is FactCheck.org. Their motto, "We are all entitled to our own opinions but not to our own facts.:"
Since I tend to question anything I hear from anyone I need these various sources to keeip me straight. Now as to Keith Obermann. While he attacks I agree, smear would be an opinion, but the facts - now there you will find he is most of the time absolutely correct. I believe you are shutting out the facts because of your opinion about the source. Not a good thing.
Facts? Who's disputing facts? Here's my point and please pay very close attention. When someone is as obsessed with Fox News as Olberman clearly is and devotes so much time to a personal vendetta with insults, slander and smears as Olberman clearly does it makes you wonder. I wonder why Olberman is afraid to debate? I wonder why Olberman only invites guests who bolster his clear bias? Nobody is willing to answer these questions. Why is Fox so much more successful than MSNBC? Even with the stars from NBC news like Russert and Andrea Mitchell appearing on Olberman he's still a dismal failure in the ratings war. The reason is simple, Olberman won't debate the opposition. He's scared. He's frightened. His flimsy so-called arguments will all crumble under cross examination. He's nothing more than a propaganda flunky for the democrat party. It's that simple. Try using logic, or, if you will, Super logic!
I have my doubts about factcheck.org. After going to the site a couple of times, and each time they had a fact of the day about African American. You know the same old facts like, we have the highest number of HIV-Aids, even though the first person to die from AID in the U.S. was a white man. So I asked a couple of questions, have not heard from them yet, this was three (3) weeks ago. 1. How many White Americans have herpes.
2. How many times can you find a negative article about African Americans in the MSM/print/radio/TV? No response. 3. Where type of community does White Americans on DFAC & food stamps? 4. Number of white men found guilty of child molestation not in jail. Just some facts to show that certain stats are not being revealed.
Superlogic is another hardened corporatist stooge, frantically rampaging the corridors of huffpost, searching for his lost conscience. Welcome, brother. Sit down. Let me get you some soup.
Hey, lay off Olbermann. He is fantastic!
I agree!!!!!!!!
O.K., case closed. Let us know when we can re-open it, would you?
You took the words right out of my mouth!
The only thing that can get O'Reilly booted off the air is if he said, "Y'know, Bush has really messed things up and perhaps its time for a Democratic to fix them."
He would be on a long vacation shortly after saying something along those lines.
O'Reilly will remain on the air as long as the unteachably ignorant red-state masses keep tuning in to watch.
but wait, I like laughing at him, seriously it is comic relief. I guess it depends on what you go to the program for.
You know, you're just feeding the love/hate with O'Reilly. Why don't you just ignore him, the way you would ignore any other idiot?
I don't watch his show. I don't know what he said about Arianna. Frankly, I don't care what he says. He's a fool.
I don't watch him, therefore I'm doing my part in getting his ratings to go down. Which, by the way, is the ONLY way to get him off the air.
