When my head cleared from the coma induced by watching a Democrat try to out-jockey a Republican to praise war criminal Henry Kissinger -- these thoughts came to mind.
How did the Democratic candidate for president let the Republican standard-bearer grandstand on a shameful and ruinous war, dot com-level war profiteering, torture, rampant cronyism and corruption, taxes, financial chaos and general bull goose insanity? It's as if the last seven years never happened, as if the Republican establishment hasn't been trying to openly roll back the New Deal for 35 years, and for the last seven years gone completely and utterly drunk with power and insane.
With Obama, we will find out you can counter punch to the presidency. But whether or not Democrats can reflect a version of reality, let alone a vision for the future is very much in doubt...
I think we have to force their hand on all this and race -- I thought Obama was horrible Friday night and don't think the country will elect a black man who will let himself be slapped around by a corrupt old man. He never knocked out Hillary and I think the country wants to know he's tough enough -- he had no passion, no toughness, no conviction, and no courage...
I guess we can count on the fact that the perfect storm will carry him to the White House, but....
