Posted December 18, 2006 | 01:37 PM (EST)

Looks like Pastor Ted Haggard, the fallen, meth-snorting, gay hooker-hiring moralist, and founder of New Life Church has a pastor falling in his footsteps...

Details are still somewhat fuzzy but Pastor Ted's New Life Church announced the resignation of another executive staff member, Christopher Beard, for sexual misconduct.

Posted November 10, 2006 | 03:04 PM (EST)

The Borat Backlash has begun. First, Ron Rosenbaum's interesting "two Borat" piece in Slate and now a predictable scolding from Richard Goldstein, in the house organ of the "That's Not Funny!" left, The Nation Magazine.

If anyone's wonderign why the left is losing the culture war --...

Split in the American Taliban?

Put this on your Technorati watchlist or whatever your preferred radar mechanism might be. Admittedly, it's only a minor fissure at the moment but it could portend a major shift in thinking/policy on the evangelical right.

Dr. James "Spongedob" Dobson of Focus on The Family needs no introduction, but...

With all the high-falutin and appropriately serious commentary about Wal-Mart this week, let's take a moment to enjoy the lighter side.

After years of speculating, bloviating, and bracing in abject horror, it’s official: The two largest alternative weekly newspaper chains have merged into one behemoth. New Times Inc, which owns weeklies in Phoenix, Denver, St. Louis, Kansas City, Berkeley, SF, Cleveland, Houston, Dallas, Miami and Palm Beach has acquired Village Voice...

Wal-Mart’s role in the culture wars is often ascribed to be predictably conservative. In recent years the beyotch from Bentonville tossed out Jon Stewart’s book America (because of its naked Supreme Court...

With its detumescent stock price and less than Gremlin-like growth in same store sales, it might seem like Wal-Mart, the world's largest whatever, is on the ropes. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that the retailer is even hitting the bottle, literally. In an effort to boost sales Wal-Mart is...

Sex & The City: Secular Filth and Hot! Hot! Hot!

Don’t ask why I was on the Parents Television Council’s website. And please don’t ask why I needed to click the link to their Sex and The City campaign. Just know that I did. And now I've got culture war shrapnel embedded in my backside.

Hear my tale...
