Prior to this, John was a part of HBO Documentary Films for 17 years where, in addition to his executive role as vice president, he most recently executive produced and directed multiple-Emmy®-nominated The Weight of the Nation, a groundbreaking multi-part series presented by HBO in an unprecedented collaboration with the Institute of Medicine (IOM), in association with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Made in partnership with the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and Kaiser Permanente and three years in the making, it is one of the most far-reaching public health campaigns on this epidemic to date.
