With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy (no, wait, he should be apologizing to all of us for that lame redneck schtick):

If you can't count how many homes you have, you might be a rich guy.

If you think it takes $5 million a year to be rich, you might be a rich guy.

If you think some people "are poor if they're billionaires," you might be a rich guy.

If you have a fireplace next to the outdoor spa in one of your mansions, you might be a rich guy.

If your plan to cut taxes on the wealthy would save your family $373,429 a year, you might be a rich guy.

If you dumped your first wife to have an affair with a wealthy heiress, you might be(come) a rich guy.

If you fly around with a lobbyist on corporate jets while doing favors for her client, you might be a rich guy.

If you wear $520 loafers, you might be a rich guy.

If your annual expenses for servants are five times the median income per person in America, you might be a rich guy.

If you refer to your 6-acre Sedona lakeside estate, worth more than one million dollars and complete with a large home, a guest house, and the house next door, as a "cabin," you might be a rich guy.

If you think that no American would pick lettuce for $50 an hour, you might be a rich guy.

If you fly around on your wife's corporate jet for free, you might be a rich guy.

If you think that big corporations need $200 billion in tax giveaways, you might be a rich guy.

If you think inheritance taxes on multi-millionaires need to be cut by 67%, you might be a rich guy.

If you think being given a vice president's job at your father-in-law's beer company is an accomplishment, you might be a rich guy.

If you and your wife are worth well over $100 million, you might be a rich guy.

If you think selling junk on eBay is how Americans can avoid poverty, you might be a rich guy.

If you think it's normal to take a free trip to Charles Keating's opulent Bahamas retreat and get $112,000 in campaign donations in exchange for meeting with federal regulators on Keating's behalf, you might be a rich guy.

There's no absolute correlation, as far as I know, between toadying for corporations and having personal wealth. The item about wanting $200 billion in corporate tax giveaways really doesn't belong.

I would like to know if John and Cindy McCain used the
tax shelters that UBS was peddling to rich clients. These
have been proven to be illegal by the IRS. Phil
"Nation of Whiners" Gramm was vice chairman at UBS.
Who was being helped to hide this money frrom taxes.

So McCain should appologize for being wealthy? You act suprised that a senator could be rich. Maybe you should ask Ted Kennedy or John Kerry why they have so much money. I think anyone trying to stop drilling in favor of the enviroment is out of touch.

Nobody wants him to be sorry for being wealthy, his wife got there the old fashioned way...she inherited it.
It is the fact that he has no concept of the economic hardships that the failed policies the Republicans forced on America! He is out of touch with what it is to work paycheck to paycheck. He has never had to do it. Ever.
Remember in 2004 they lambasted Kerry for his wealth, They hammered Edwards for it as well.
Without the environment you will not survive so you you can drive your fat SUV or Muscle car!
It is you that is out of touch!

McCain should apologize for supporting tax dodges for people like himself, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Exxon Mobile, Shell Oil, etc. while middle class Americans shoulder the bulk of the tax burden for the entire country.

I've seen the damage done by an oil spill. One bad one could shut down Panama City, Pensacola or Tampa/St. Pete and there is no way they could ever build an offshore platform sturdy enough to withstand a category 4 or 5 hurricane. The design, coupled with the force of the water's movement, is inherently weak.

Only someone from a land-locked state like Arizona would think it was worth the risk since there would be none to his state.

Who did you say is "out of touch"?

Even John MCain might not be John McCain...his campaign runs him and feeds him his talking points. He gets lost because of course they are a direct opposite to his former thoughts and opinions on everything.

Its not unlikely that the "wiretaps" picked up enough information to blackmail Johnny Mac-one-note-follows-orders, so he is the sacrificial goat for the Rethugs to throw in the ring...while they hustle to get out of the bldg...to watch it all fall down on the Democrats shoulders.

They've run up enough debt to insure there will be no programs for the suffering citizens, but more bail outs of corporations "in the public's interest" lest "the economy fails". What a set up.
Its sickening.

If homeless veterans are sleeping in the boxes that came with the plush furniture you decorated your seven mansions with, you might be Mccain

By the time Obama is McCains age, no doubt he will own several homes! The hypocrite faults McCain for his wifes fortune. I guess he better fire John Kerry and believes the super rich Kennedy
should not have been elected!? The hypocrite Rookie, is the pot calling the kettle black. So what, how many houses.? What is sickening is the half billion dollars the illusionist is spending to convince us how great he is! If he wins it will be by hook or crook and thanks to the misled, uninformed beguiled smittened groupies. Grow up, get a dose of reality and see the handwriting on the wall! God help our Country. Ex Democrat

Wow...Are you a racist or just dense? Obama worked hard to get where he is today, so did his wife. They are not rich by McCain's standards.
The crooks are the Republicans here. The Democrat crooks hopefully will be weeded out this election cycle!

You drank the kool-aid. I suggest you grow up. You will never have an estate to tax so stop voting for tax cuts for the wealthy!

Mikey683/Vivienne,

John Kerry is NOT running for POTUS .................... John McCain IS THE ONE RUNNING ................ Please stay on message.............. What does John and Teresa Kerry have to do with McCain's MANY MANSIONS? ....................... LAME, LAME ATTEMPT AT A COMEBACK.

Vivienne,

If you are that good to see into the future, please give us the winning lottery numbers........ How do you know what Obama will have when he is 72 years old?

THE CURRENT YEAR IS 2008, AND AS OF TODAY'S DATE:

Obama has ONE HOME (4 bedrooms)................ THAT'S IT ............... ONE HOME.

McCain has at least TEN HOMES, A PRIVATE JET, DOESN'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF CAR HE HAS, WEARS $520 LOAFERS FOR KICKS, AND SPENDS $273,000 ON HOUSEHOLD STAFF TO HAVE HIS BEDS MADE, COFFEE POURED, AND FURNITURE DUSTED.

McCain started this CELEBRITY thing, and now it has come back to bite him ............. Don't hate because McCain is FINALLY being exposed for the FRAUD he really is.

tel8034 -

When Obama was elected to the US Senate, his wife's salary at the University of Chicago Medical Center was doubled to $317,000 a year. According to Obama's definition of rich, I guess that makes him rich as well.

I feel sorry for you people who think Obama is more than he is - a very good politician, who will be no more capable of doing everything he claims he wants to do than any other politician. I can appreciate being disappointed by American politics " who isn"t - but there is nothing, and no one, who can change it. Obama may be the next president, and he may very well be a good one, but your expectations are unrealistic. I fear you will be most disappointed.

Yeah, and do not forget $400.00 hair cuts. Oh, thats not McCain.
By all means do not forget the getaway at a private beach in Hawaii for a week. Oh, thats not McCain.

No private beaches in Hawaii. Check facts before opening mouth and inserting foot.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:42 PM on 08/22/2008

There are no private beaches in Hawaii. That's why McCain hasn't visited there. Or is it McCain has forgotten that Hawaii is a State? People tend to do that when they get old.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:42 PM on 08/22/2008

Oh.... right.

Except it is more than likely that Cindy McCain owns the private beach Obama was vacationing on.

I'm not sure if you realize this because, well, you're an idiot, but I'm pretty sure nearly 10,000,000 people visit Hawaii annually. It hardly makes you elite.

Show me 10,000,000 people who have dumped their wives to have an affair with a rich heiress worth over $100,000,000, walk around in $520 shoes, and own 8 homes.

I can sure as hell show you one: John McCain.

They need to spin all these out and end them with "you might be John McCain" - the next 30 sec spot for the campaign.
