Conan's Expensive Goodbye: What's Wrong With This Picture? ...or How Blogging Means Occasionally Having to Say You're Sorry [UPDATED]

What's Your Reaction:

What used to occupy this space was my post objecting to Conan O'Brien's spending NBC money on non-funny skits just to waste the network's cash. I went on about how unfortunate it was to do so at a time when others are soliciting donations for causes of critical need such as Haiti.

Well thanks to a combination of friends and Huffington Post readers, I now know that I missed the joke completely. It turns out, as everyone but me seemed to know, that Conan really wasn't spending the money. So the joke and yoke is clearly on me.

I think the right thing to do is to pull the post... which I've done... and to thank all of you that took the time to set me straight.

I also want to apologize for getting the facts wrong.

And now I can more fully enjoy tonight's "Tonight" finale. Give 'em Hell Conan. This time I'll get it.
