JOHN SHAY is the founder of Headzup Entertainment who, together with Matthew Filipowicz, created Headzup (www.headzup.tv), as the world's first political cartoon for video-enabled cell phones. Headzup is syndicated across multiple outlets, including YouTube, Revver, Short Brain TV and GoLeft TV. Headzup episodes have been aired on CNN, NPR, the BBC, the online versions of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic and the London Times, as well as Air America's Ring Of Fire, The Thom Hartmann Show, The Young Turks, and throughout the blogosphere.

Prior to launching Headzup, Shay was a director for Hutchison-Whampoa Americas Limited where he was tasked with evaluating and securing best-of-breed technology, applications, games, and content for global 3G cellular networks. Shay also served as director for Hutchison's streaming media subsidiary, Vidiator Technology, where he spearheaded the acquisition of 3D avatar animation and video motion capture technologies.

Prior to joining Hutchison-Whampoa, Shay was a director at Zama Networks, a next generation Internet startup that was building the first native IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) network bridge between the US and Asia. Zama was shutdown when funding collapsed in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Prior to Zama, Shay was with RealNetworks where he was recruited as the original product manager for the RealAudio server product line. Shay was instrumental in establishing RealAudio as a ubiquitous
streaming media solution. He also spearheaded the introduction of RealNetworks
technology to telecommunication and broadcast companies throughout the
world, including ABCnews, BT, DT, FT, BBC News Online, ITN, Korea
Telecom, SK Telecom, KBS, Hong Kong Telecom, RTHK, China Central
Television, Chungwha Telecom, NTT, TBS, Telstra, Australian
Broadcasting Corp., SingTel, Embratel, Globo Television, Telmex,
Televisa, and Cable & Wireless. He is also credited with conceiving
and executive producing the landmark Princess Diana and Hong Kong
Handover cybercasts.

Previously, Shay produced multi-player interactive games at Sierra
On-Line for AT&T's ImagiNation Network. He has worked in the
software industry since 1989, having started as a UNIX and VMS
software engineer developing geophysical software for Sierra
Geophysics, Halliburton, and Western Atlas. Mr. Shay holds advanced
degrees in chemistry and geology/geophysics.

Shay lives in Bellevue, Washington with his oceanographer wife, Dr. Joan Oltman-Shay, and with his son, David, and daughter, Dana.
