John Suthers is Colorado’s 37th Attorney General, a position he has held since January 2005. Since becoming a lawyer more than three decades ago, Suthers has served in a variety of positions in the public sector, including a presidentially appointed U.S. Attorney from 2001 to 2005, director of the Colorado Department of Corrections and the elected district attorney for the Fourth Judicial District, which includes Colorado Springs. Suthers most recently authored “No Higher Calling, No Greater Responsibility: A Prosecutor Makes his Case” (Fulcrum Publishing, 2008), an analysis of the prosecutor’s role in the justice system.
