A few hundred people marched through Hollywood on Saturday to protest genetically modified organisms (GMO's) and the corporate giant Monsanto. Gathering at Hollywood Blvd. and La Brea, the marchers held a direct action, asking protesters to plant organic seedlings in the public park. The many honking horns of passers-by was an indication that this issue, obscure only a few years ago, has becoming a groundswell of public concern.

A Hollywood celebrity (of sorts) was on hand to lend his support. Taking time out of the opening weekend of X-Men: Days of Future Past to speak out against Monsanto, Wolverine took to the megaphone to offer his personal testimonial: "I'm genetically modified myself. I don't agree with it. It's not good." (Video below)

The protest was part of March Against Monsanto, with similar events happening nationwide today.
