As I commented in an article several days ago, Dallas Cowboy rookie-Dez Bryant was maligned by Dolphins GM, Jeff Ireland. Any explanation, after the fact, that encourages an intelligent person to accept this line of questioning as both reasonable and warranted is an affront to common dignity. Unsubstantiated reports that this young man suggested that his mother was being pimped by his father are malicious, reckless and have been emphatically denied by Dez Bryant.
Apparently some people justify this insulting behavior by invoking the childish notion that 'two wrongs make a right'.
Former Dolphin's player Rob Konrad supports Jeff Ireland because he's a 'good guy' and he (Konrad) years ago and Stanford running back, Toby Gerheart recently were forced to endure racist questioning during their NFL interviews.
Mr. Konrad, two wrongs do not make a right.
For Konrad and Gearheart to be questioned about their ability or inability to succeed in the NFL because their skin color is racist, pure and simple, and should not be tolerated.
Racist questioning of a white NFL player should not be used as some sort of perverse justification for the maltreatment of anyone, including Dez Bryant. It should be more accurately viewed as a glimpse of a misguided, unhealthy and unethical culture pervasive in professional football.
FYI- a 'forty million dollar slave' (title of book by Bill Rhoden) can also be White.
