Yanni never imagined he'd ever be a part of a Charlie Sheen sandwich, but that's exactly where he found himself last Saturday night. Thankfully, I don't mean that literally. The self-taught composer, keyboardist, and pianist took his sold-out "Truth of Touch" tour to Radio City Music Hall on April 9 just one night after the infamous "Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option Show" rolled into town (and tanked) and a day before the second warlock date evidently went a little smoother.
A mere two hours before he'd perform to a sold-out audience at the famous New York City institution, I spoke with Yanni and asked him about being between two Sheens, and more importantly, his new album Truth of Touch, artists that inspire him, and his countless world travels. Speaking of the latter, the International superstar born Yannis Hrysomallis has packed arenas across the globe and moved audiences for over two decades with his signature fresh, arguable new age songs. The prolific artist, who has over 30 platinum and gold records, is in the midst of touring North America in support of his latest release -- the musician's first instrumental album of original work in eight-plus years.
