If you're not in the entertainment industry, you might not know the names Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci and Damon Lindelof, but you are definitely familiar with their work. Kurtzman and Orci are a writing team that has worked on Alias, Fringe, Hawaii Five-O, The Island, Mission Impossible III and Transformers , to name a few. Damon Lindelof is best known for running Lost for all six seasons and has just finished writing Prometheus for Ridley Scott. The three of them last collaborated on Star Trek under director JJ Abrams. Together, these writers were responsible for the final leg of the journey in getting Cowboys & Aliens to the big screen.
This group represents the new wave of genre writers and producers that came out of the world of television and are now making their mark on the big screen. These conversations offer insight into both the realization of Cowboys & Aliens the movie as well as the path their careers have taken that have brought them to this point. An interesting dynamic in working on Cowboys & Aliens was how the different generations of Hollywood came together and collaborated on this unique project.
