Jon Levy is an analyst of European issues with Eurasia Group, a consulting firm advising international investors on global market developments and political risk. Jon is a frequent commentator on European issues, appearing on CNN, NPR and CNBC.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Jon was a director of national security policy for the Kerry for President campaign, working directly with Senator Kerry's national security advisor to develop policy on a range of issues, including the war in Iraq, NATO strategy and US-European relations. Previously, he was a Berlin-based journalist, contributing to several publications, including the German national daily, Die Welt, and researching a book on the city of Berlin and the politics of urban development. Before his work in Berlin, Jon was a consultant with Coopers & Lybrand, advising clients on a range of financial and strategic issues in the commercial real estate industry, with additional focus on economic development and market entry strategies.

Jon received his Master of International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, specializing in international law and economics. His research focus was on the economic and strategic impact of international sanctions, and the political economy of southeastern Europe. He has an AB in political science from Brown University.
