Today, VoteVets.org is releasing this ad, which will air on FOX News and CNN, starting tomorrow. A similar version will be on Rush Limbaugh's radio show in Washington, D.C. and his home market of West Palm Beach. And, at the same time, Senator Harry Reid is leading the charge on the Hill, challenging Rush host Clear Channel to do something about his disgraceful comments.
I don't think I need to say anything more than that. This ad speaks for itself. Please help VoteVets.org keep up the fight. And chime in with what you think in the comments below.

Mr Stoltz,
You are wonderful. I can't say how much I've enjoyed watching you stick it to the chicken hawks on Hardball lately. Please keep up the good work...
There is money in the hate business in America. Rush Limbaugh proves this unfortunate fact. Rush speaks for many middle Americans who are racists and sexists. Most of his audience are inadequate males who cannot get way with insulting others to their faces.
Calling people "environmental wackos" while we are in a crisis of climate change is similar to denying the holocaust. Untold human suffering will be endured while this fat and bloated gasbag denigrates those how wish to save humanity from its own short-sightedness.
Rush Limbaugh speaks to the worst element in America and the worst in humanity. He never served in the military and has no morals or ethics. He is addicted to the sound of his own voice and whatever drugs it takes for his motor mouth to continue nonstop. He couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag unless it was a scumbag! Then he would jump in with his friends.
"Most of his audience are inadequate males who cannot get way with insulting others to their faces."
HOOOOO-ah! You nailed that, dude!
Long and close observation of diehard right-wingers has convinced me that most of them -- I'd guess at least 75% -- are terminal losers who feel (correctly) that the world is passing them by and have an inferiority complex (justified) that they try to conceal with much ultra-macho posturing, chest-thumping and "patriotic" displays. Flush Rimbowl, with his big mouth and big cigars, is the embodiment of what they dream of being, their ideal "man." Smirky McChimp tries to do the same with his phony cowboy act, but he's too much of a natural wuss to bring it off.
But Bill Bennett and all Rush's supporters say he was only talking about ONE non-soldier who said he was one and really wasn't! Bill Bennett and Rush's defenders know all, of course. They condemn MoveOn when all they did was ask a question.. .General Patreas or Betray Us? But Rush gets by with saying anything he wants and has for years!
does anyone have a pointer to a list of current advertisers and corporate sponsors of Rush's show?
thanks,
itunkala
His sponsers should be posted on his website.
I just got up to speed on this, and I must say I am very disapointed in the huffposters.
I recognize that we don't see eye to eye on alot. However, I have always found most of you to be honest and intelligent.
After examining this issue, I have come to the conclusion that to believe Mr. Limbaugh was calling soldiers who oppose Mr. Bush's policy "phoney soldiers" must be either uninformed, liars or suffering from some sort of mental illness.
It is quite obvious, in fact unequivocal, that Mr. Limbaugh was referring to people who had falsified their military record as "phoney soldiers," as this Jesse Metcalf had done.
okay well show the quotes that make what you say so obvious...
Try reading the show's transcript. You're not "up to speed." A man who said he was military and a Republican said that the war was hurting America and needed to end. Rush repeatedly called the man a liar "no Republican" and to a subsequent caller who called this man's military experience into question, Rush said the caller was "a phoney soldier." On the basis that the man disagreed with Limbaugh on the war.
Perhaps he was just being stupid tothink Limbaugh would allow him to speak his mind without being called a liar repeatedly, then a "phoney soldier." Yes, he DID say it.
I know what the transcript said, and I have read the accounts on both media matters and Mr. Limbaugh's site.
It is quite a stretch to proclaim the words in the transcript mean that all soldiers who disagree with the war are "phoney."
Additionally, Rush had referred to an msm report about soldiers who faked their records calling them "phoney."
Lastly, even Rush's most hateful detractors, if they had a shred of honesty to them, would admit that the man has shown unwavering support for the military and the soldiers fighting in Iraq. One would have to completely disregard everything he has ever said about the military to believe he meant that.
Here's a clue: Rush's transcript is doctored. Fortunately for those who believe in honesty, there are tapes of his original comments before he edited.
Rush Limbaugh is a completely pathetic loser who appeals to losers.
I certainly get the impression from what he said that he was using Macbeth to define a class of soldiers who opposed the war. He may not have unequivocably stated that in exactly those words but I think most of the ditto heads understood it that way and that he intended them to take that understanding. I think that is true beyond reasonable doubt. Bush didnt say exactly that Saddam had a nuclear weapon but his speech clearly was intended to create that impression. Whether you call such conduct lying or not makes a distinction without a difference. I consider it the moral equivalent of lying. Saying something to create an incorrect impression. You might as well just lie.
Yes, like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar, Rush edited his show transcript to connect it to Jesse Metcalf by erasing almost 2 minutes of what was actually aired between his "phony soldier" comments and his remarks about Metcalf. Conservative proof!
Where is the proof that the caller he referred to and much later connected to Metcalf had falsified his military record? Rush has no way to know that. You believe that he is justified in assuming that any soldier who doesn't agree with ol' pimplebutt (as he was known in his military days) MUST be falsifying his service and being able to cite 1 example where someone falsified there record is proof that anyone I choose has falsified their record. What school did you go to?
I guaranty Rush and his 'Dittohead' minions will maintain that he was not calling every American GI who served and is know opposing or speaking out against the 'preemptive' Bush/Cheney doctrine 'phoney'.
It's the way these talking heads operate. Feed the listeners all the misleading, well spun, viscerally stimulating misinformation they can consume, leading them to an obvious conclusion, and then deny the effort by claiming to be taken out of context or misquoted when challenged.
Rush is not about to debate the misdirected 'war on terror' with anyone who has earned more crediblity than he has. That is why he seldom if ever debates any issue with anyone.

Hey! Rush made his anti troops who wanna come come comment on September 28th. It was September 28th when he made his racist comments on ESPN and was fired, and a week later he was admitting to taking illegally obtained painkillers. Maby another shoe's gonna drop next week.
I know it's tough, if not impossible, for you Clintonites to get the FACTS correct,

Who you calling a "Clintonite"? That man is far too conservative for my taste!
And this has something to do with Rush Limbaugh's comment?

This is classic misdirection. The story here is about fraudulent claims made by peole who claim to have served but did not. It does say that in every instance the 'frauds' spoke negatively about the decision to go to war or the execution of it. It just points out that there are people who lie about being in the service and try to get financial gain.
Can anyone make claim that all of these 'fakes' were anti war anti Bush? Any possiblity some of these fakes could be chickenhawks?
looked at the first link, eight whole cases, wow!
Wow. I'm impressed. You used RUSH LIMBAUGH's WEBSITE to back your position???? What kind of tunnel-visioned, intellectu ally-devoi d humming-wi th-your-fi ngers-in-y our-ears smart ass are you? At least support yourself with *perceptually* unbiased information. Then it would seem like you're actually trying.
That said, I'm a "phony soldier" I guess. I'm against the war. And I'm active duty. And no amount of bellowing by Rush or anyone else will sway me on it.
Bill O'Really is trying to give aide and comfort to Rush. He sent him a gift basket with his favorite Loofah's and Falafel recipes with a note telling him even if it was his words thrown back at him....den y, deny, deny then get pissy and threaten everyone. Works for him and the Right just love it.
Melanie "Barbie Doll" Morgan, blonde bobble-head Faux mouthpiece, is apparently sticking up for Rush and fueling the fire according to ThinkProgr ess.org. She is specifically targeting Jon Soltz. Another case of their b.s. coming back to bite them in the butt, because all they're doing is prompting more people to donate for more ads. Thanks Faux! And Jon, I know you're an honorable gentleman, but it sure would be nice to see you do some verbal kicking of rightwing booty.
Don't listen to Rush or Clear Channel. Write a letter or email to CC and tell them why not.
Rush is nothing but a whiny hypocrite, evading duty in one misbegotten war while calling for others to sacrifice their health, safety, sanity, limbs and lives in another. It's time more folks like Mr. McGough call him on his hypocrisy - and didn't Mr. McGough do a fine job documenting everything of which he spoke? Wow. Thank you, Mr. McGough, for your service to this country and for your speaking truth to power.
very interesting item I came up with looking up my local clear channel station.
n.Hmmmmmm. .......... .
Clear Channel Communications, Inc. Shareholders Approve Merger with Private Equity Group Co-Led by Bain Capital Partners, LLC And Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P.
now we know that Bain is Mitten Romney's old corporatio
Of course it's well-known that CC contributed heavily to Bush's campaigns.
Nice one, Kitty.
Could we give Coulter a cross and a Bible and send her on a missionary trip to Iran, Iraq or Saudi Arabia for her remarks to convert the entire Middle East to Christianity as well? These right wingers always dish out the slime and act all high and mighty but as soon as someone throws the slime right back at them they cry to the very people they tell their listeners to hate and distrust, the Government. Classic Hypocricy, when a fat-ass-wa r-evading- pill popping chicken hawk calls Senator Hagel Senator Betrayus for questioning the war its ok.
But when an anti war group such as MoveOn uses
the Petraeus/Betray us pun, The Right wingers get outraged and whine like brats who don't get what they want.
Then blame the Democrats for it.
Instead of simply blogging about Rush Limbaugh, is there an organized effort to contact his advertisers to boycott their support of his show? This probably already exists. If so, please let the readers know what can be done to send a strong message to these advertisers. It is much too painful to listen to this horse's ass pontificate to hear who advertises on the show.
this needs to be done - finding the people financing Limbogs self serving remarks
Count me in. I've detested that man since he was insensitive and cruel enough to mock Chelsea Clinton as fat and ugly when she was 12 years old. Talk about below the belt! Especially coming from a fat and ugly loser adult.
In my town there are a number of local businesses that advertise on Flush Rimbowl's show. Organizing a boycott of local businesses might be more effective than trying to go national.
this is great stuff, but airing it on limbaugh's program? come on... rush will just spin it and draw his dwindling market share in even closer. it's a waste of money, and a poorly targeted waste of money at that.
nt." most of the conventional wisdom about that massive, misunderstood group of voters is garbage, but i'll tell ya one thing about them: they, like the vast majority of americans (and the rest of the human race,) like to have their prejudices reinforced. most of them think rush limbaugh is a screaming nutbag, so let's give them another piece of evidence in that direction and tie it to the general republican agenda.
the real places for this kind of thing are larger, more mainstream outlets that service the large portion of the population that considers itself "independa
then do a print version and put it in USA today. -=that's=- how you get meaningful impact with something like this.
Did not hear rusty boil ass mention Jon Soltz's challange to debate...g uess he just forgot.
Stay on em Jon.
Limpdick challenged Harry Reid to meet him face to face. Reid would be spotting Limpdick eight years and about a hundred pounds, but my money would still be on him. Limpdick is a bully and, like all bullies, he is a coward.
Normally, I'd agree with Susanholmes. But, Rush has a specific audience that mostly doesn't question what they hear from him or the President. On Fox and from the White House, all they hear is that the 'soldiers support the mission.' The rest of us know that's garbage, but they're self-ghettoized in their little "feel good" media cocoon. I think it's worthwhile to cut in there and give 'em a dose of reality once in a while.
go vote vets,
especially Josh Lansdale.
