Jonathan D. Quick, MD, MPH became president and chief executive officer of Management Sciences for Health (MSH) in 2004. A family physician and public health management specialist, he has worked in international health since 1978. From 1989 to 1991, he worked as a health service development advisor for the Afghanistan Health Sector Support Project. Dr. Quick is an expert on essential medicines and public health. Prior to joining MSH, he was at the World Health Organization, where he was director of essential drugs and medicines policy. He has served as a long-term advisor in Pakistan and Kenya and carried out assignments in more than 25 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He is on the faculty at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Global Health and Social Medicine. He earned a degree from Harvard University and two more from the University of Rochester: a master’s degree in public health and an MD with distinction in public health.
