Richards has more tolerance than I do for these last minute reprieves, such as the Medicare hold he depicts so well, the budget we saw go down to the wire and now the upcoming debt ceiling theater. To keep your wit, as he does, in the face of repetitive near-catastrophe takes a lot of confidence, or hope, and probably a martini before approaching the drawing board.
