Friendship between neighbours is always something to be cherished, Everybody knows that the immigration situation is complex and not always easy, but this cartoon is trying to portray the offensive nature of the fence between partners and friends, the United States & Mexico will remain close forever, isn´t it time to tackle this situation in a creative and friendly way ? We the people of the world deserve better

"North America had no immigration laws, but if you'd polled the natives, and shown them the Big Picture, they probably would have expressed reservations against the influx."
Exactly the point.

Hi all, I think it's a very interesting dialog here but the true is: Humans always try to "use" another humans if they are weak. It's in history books of all countries it happened in any place and will happens again in the future. A recent picture of that was the one showed at the movie Avatar, remembering us on how humans only care about their own interests doesn't matter how much they will damage others.

For something to be "ILLEGAL" there has to be a law. The Native Americans didn't have immigration laws. Therefore our ancestors weren't ILLEGAL immigrants.

Since North America had no immigration laws when the first Europeans arrived, the Pilgrims were not illegal immigrants. The first contact between Native Americans and Europeans came in Greenland. Skraelings, or Inuits, crossed over from Ellesmere Island in the far north around A.D. 1000, migrated down the west coast and overran a Viking settlement that had been established abound AD 986. After a brief war, there was a long truce. Inuit-Norse relations seem to have been fairly friendly at times, hostile at others. However, the Skraeling invaders eventually wiped out the last remaining Viking setllement.

Different cultures have different legal traditions. North America had no immigration laws, but if you'd polled the natives, and shown them the Big Picture, they probably would have expressed reservations against the influx. And chances are had there been immigration laws, they wouldn't have been respected by the European settlers any more than later treaties were. The beat goes on.

Some settlers may have paid for the land they took, but the vast majority of the territory now comprising the US was stolen through brute force, treachery and murder from other peoples. America was built by illegal immigrants, that's a fact.
Illegal immigrants today do pay for the land and the houses in which they live. They work all day long to do that for less than legal wages.

They were NOT the first illegal immigrants by the way. The Native Americans had a good way of dealing with those they considered illegal immigrants, they KILLED THEM! Think we need to follow their example?
As for the settlers in English America, they PAID for their land they settled on and brought advanced technology to the new world. Now if our current illegals would pay for their land, or even their housing in accordance with our laws, and brought advanced technology, I doubt that there would be any problems.
Of course, the Spanish came long before our ancestors did. Why don't you show how THEY came? They did NOT pay for anything, stole everything, committed genocide on a scale not seen until Hitler, and made slaves out of the native survivors. To this day, Native Americans in Mexico are not even granted ANY land of their own as they have in the US. The same is true throughout ALL of Latin America, and most of those natives were exterminated by the Spanish LONG time ago.
Compared to the Spanish and Portugese, the US was very kind and generous to our natives.

And they still hunt the indigenous peoples of Mexico and many other central and south American nations today, like animals. Genocide exists there still!

Why is that?
Best feel good post of the day.

Weak.
Hes was distinguishing between the native people of this country and the others he mention. Even I got that.
