It isn't a matter of if you can do it.
Of course you can do it. Why can't you? We have the power to make choices for ourselves and how we want to live our lives each and every day -- and making those choices that will lead you to a greater fulfillment with life is all up to you.
So of course you can do it -- It's just a matter of if you want it badly enough.
This isn't the I'd-really-love-an-ice-cream-cone-right-now kind of want. This is the all-encompassing kind of want. It takes over. It consumes every thought. It fills your mind and feeds your soul.
It's the want that was put in you from the very beginning -- your calling, if you will.
We're all given unique talents, skills, personalities, drives, interests. But it's how we use and value those traits that really sets us apart and defines our story.
We all want many things -- it's the blessing and curse of living in our modern society. We have all of the tools we need right at our finger tips. Our technologies make almost anything possible.
But if we try to do it all, we won't really be doing much of anything will we?
I know I won't. As someone who struggles with saying "no" to opportunities, I've tried to become more aware of spreading myself too thin. Instead, I ask myself: What do I really want? Because that's what I'm here for.
And to be perfectly honest, I'm still working on that. I know how I want to feel and what I want to do -- but that's not always perfectly transferable to one specific career or choice. No matter where my life takes me, I know I always want to pay it forward and act through love. So for now, those two little thoughts have been guiding every action and decision.
Those are two things I want desperately enough that all of my choices are guided by them. And I truly believe anything is possible if you want it with your whole heart and soul - if you're on your journey to fulfill your Personal Legend.
You just need to want it with, as Sheila Graham says above, "an inner exuberance that erupts through the skin and joins the energy that created the world."
So, do you want it badly enough?
