Jerome Corsi's Greatest Hits

A few minutes of Googling around the voluminous hate sites on the web and we quickly discover that Jerome R. Corsi is well known for holding many "controversial" views. According to Corsi watchers, he called Islam "a worthless, dangerous Satanic religion," and referred to the Koran as "the 'software' for producing deviant cancer-cell political behavior and violence in human beings." He also calls Muslims "Ragheads" and "Boy-Bumpers." But Corsi apparently doesn't care much for Catholicism either: "Boy buggering in both Islam and Catholicism is okay with the Pope as long as it isn't reported by the liberal press." Corsi calls Senator Hillary Clinton "Hillary FAT HOG Clinton," and he calls John Kerry "John Fucking Commie Kerry." "Anybody ask why HELLary [sic] couldn't keep BJ Bill satisfied?" Corsi asks. "Not lesbo or anything, is she?" And on Kerry: "After he married TerRAHsa, [sic] didn't John Kerry begin practicing Judiasm? He also has paternal grandparents that were Jewish. What religion is John Kerry?"

Corsi, like Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Tom DeLay, and other chickenhawks, staunchly supported the Vietnam War when he was draft age but he ducked military service with the excuse of being afflicted with "hereditary eczema." His love for the Vietnam War did not translate into love for the veterans who fought it, or else Corsi might have hesitated before Swiftboating vets who disagreed with his defamation of John Kerry's exemplary Vietnam War record.

Corsi is also well known for his paranoid ramblings about the "North American Union," which is a "black helicopter" conspiracy theory that posits that the Council on Foreign Relations is seeking to impose on the United States a "super-government" that will comprise the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It is a favorite argument of the extreme anti-immigrant, anti-Mexican crowd.

In their front-page story about Corsi's book in the New York Times (August 13), Jim Rutenberg and Julie Bosman refer to Corsi rather affectionately as a "conservative gadfly." The word "gadfly" benignly implies someone who is well intentioned, even iconoclastic, who seeks to provoke thought in others, not a lying, white supremacist, propagandist.

As Corsi slithers from one television and radio show to another hawking his smears against Obama in the next few weeks with the admitted goal of "defeating" the Democratic candidate this fall, Dick Cheney's hatchet woman, Mary Matalin, who published the book and stands to profit from it, told the media that Corsi's hack job is "a good piece of scholarship." If Matalin truly believes that Corsi's book qualifies as "scholarship" she should subject it to a standard academic peer review. I'm sure we can find many Government professors who would happily volunteer some of their valuable time to give Corsi's book a scholarly evaluation.

Thanks Mr. Palmero, this is another excellent example of a Karl Rove type lunatic. He should be prosecuted for authoring such balderdash examples of supposed conservative "scholarship". I can't believe that Corsi actually has a Ph.D in Political Science - I'm sure his dissertation was complete guff.

Mr. Palermo,
Please keep your heel on Corsi's neck and I hope to see you on TV and and other media to keep making your case against him. Unlike Corsi, it's not necessary to write fiction to defeat this gas bag.

Isn't libel supposed to be a crime? Why aren't the authorities knocking on Corsi's door right now?

Found this thru a search for the word eczema - obviously "hereditary eczema" triggered the alert.

Was going to recommend a eczema brand called exederm for very sensitive skin, but given the individual perhaps not - let him scratch.

Great discussion! I hope to drop the Corsi/Freddoso commentary, but if they still pop up on NBC or CNN or PBS (like O'Neill did in 2004) that will be a point of departure for some scathing media criticism. Meantime, I plan to keep an eye out for other smears that are more below the radar as well as drive home the fact that McCain represents an old order that refuses to step aside for the new to be born. We'll see in 2008 just how racist America truly is. Stay tuned.

Last night on "Countdown", a guest said that in 11 of the first footnotes Corsi put in his book, he cites, get this - H-I-M-S-E-L-F! We won't even talk about the citations from right wing nut cases and blogs.

I love the push back job Waldham from Media Matters did on him on Larry King; great job.

How about his 'abiotic oil' theory? That's a nutcase one!

Oil is not a fossil fuel....it is a renewable resource! There is a huge conspiracy by the ubiquitous "They" to dupe us into thinking that oil is finite! "They" are using science to "enslave us all!"

Implied "elitism", I think.

RAH is a term used to describe spoiled little rich girls who are of a certain social standing with certain social characteristics. See SLANG DICTIONARY above.

Well again all this is just par for the course. Who did not think that there would be a smear campaign against Obama? What is the larger problem is that the populace really doesn't care that much. Most are concerned with gas prices, buying useless stuff, smoking cigarettes, nascar races etc. Which of course is why they were stupid enough to buy into the swift boat thing. Think about it. Here was Bush who finked out of going over to fight(like Corsi) and Kerry was over there with bullets flying over his head.???? So now Obama is a dangerous radical? Hey, Obama takes more corporate soft money than anyone else. He is as embedded in the washington elite as much as Kerry was. Stupid is as stupid does. Hey, Bush's approval rating is at 25% which is astounding in and of itself. Over 60% of the country originally thought Sadam was involved in 9/11(when in reality it was of course all Saudi Arabians). Unbelievable.

Damn! Another Chickenhawk to ad to the pantheon of Republican cowards? There has got be some sort of medal for this crew, since it seems to have been a badge of honor among them to somehow avoid the war. And so many of them! It's the rarity who actually served amongst this bunch. Afflicted with "hereditary eczema." And I thought I had heard it all when it came to Rush Limbaugh's ass pimple.

Paranoid. Preposterous. Could never happen. Oh, wait a minute. Sounds just like the European Union (EU). Well, not exactly. The EU does not have a third-world country within it's membership.

Would the corptocracy favor an infrastructure (read as the Texas Trans Corridor) to bypass West Coast and New Orleans ports in order to bring goods into this country and Canada via Mexican ports? CAFTA, NAFTA and SPP have already sent enough jobs overseas, that's not enough! Let's move the port facilites to Mexico too!

With reference to Mr. Corsi's book:

I have the freedom to say and do many things. This includes, for example, loudly passing wind in church. But I don't do that.

I was on the fence about spending the money for this book, but now I gotta get it. Anything you guys despise this much has to be something I need to read............

yea, and pick up Michael Moore's latest movie while you're at it. We despise him too although I heard he was a genius.

Keep shouting as loudly and nastily as you can about the book. Nothing is better than free publicity.......

Corsi's are pretty mainstream Republican opinions, no? The fact that an elite Republican power broker like Mary Matalin is publishing his book would seem to indicate this.

Yep, this is going to be great!

By the time this is over, Republicans will be so thoroughly discredited we'll have not only a Dem as POTUS but super-super-majorities in both houses of congress.
