Why is it that the loudest yelps against the civil rights of gay and lesbian citizens always seem to come from closeted gay Republican politicians and their ilk?
We've seen Florida Republican Representative Mark Foley cruising D.C. for male pages for sex as he lobbied in favor of strict punishments against those who used the Internet (as he did) to trawl for young sex partners.
We've seen the gay escort Jeff Gannon (aka Jim Guckert), who specialized in servicing discreet clients within the military, planted in the White House press corps so he could loft pre-planned softball and diversionary "questions" to President Bush during press conferences.
We've seen Ken Mehlman, the gay former head of the Republican National Committee direct and oversee some of the most anti-gay political campaigns in American history during the bitter 2004 election cycle.
We've seen Pastor Ted Haggard, who was among the most outspoken and prominent gay-bashers among right-wing preachers and chatted every Monday with Bush, as the head of National Association of Evangelicals, all the while paying for sex from a Denver male prostitute, (who showed more integrity than any of the Republican hypocrites by coming forward voluntarily and outing the odious Haggard).
And now we have Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig busted on a public indecency charge following complaints of lewd conduct made to police regarding the Senator's behavior in a bathroom at a Minneapolis airport. Craig, throughout his political career, has trashed gays and lesbians and has been a cheerleader for the "Defense of Marriage Act" and other initiatives restricting gay rights.
On January 24, 1999, during the Clinton impeachment, Senator Craig told Tim Russert on Meet the Press: "The American people already know that Bill Clinton is a bad boy, a naughty boy. I'm going to speak out for the citizens of my state, who in the majority think that Bill Clinton is probably even a nasty, bad, naughty boy." Craig's take on Clinton's sexual improprieties might be interpreted a little differently today following the news of his guilty plea to lewd conduct charges in a men's restroom.
It kind of makes one wonder what's going on inside the Republican Party. The next time I see one of their guys, including all of the presidential candidates, hyperventilate against gays and lesbians in full Rovian fashion, I'm just going to assume that they are themselves gay, closeted hypocrites. We all know that only Mary Cheney's gayness is cause for celebration among true-blue Americans.

What exactly does the 'G' in GOP stand for?
I heard a rumor, (I know its true because I heard in a coffee shop...) that almost all of the GOP is gay. In fact, while pretending to be anti gay, they are actually planning a total Gay conquest of America.
Look around. How many gay bashing GOPers are really gay? Could be hundreds...maybe thousands. We are doomed(those of us who arent gay republicans)
Now I understand why those Log House guys are GOPers. They are part of the vast conspiracy to turn America gay.
What does Bill OReilly have to say? Or...maybe he is gay, too? Oh, America!! What has happened to the party of fiscal and moral responsiblity?
Republicans are giving gay sex a bad name.
If the Republican men weren't gay when they entered the Party, I can see how the thought of knocking boots with Jean Schmidt, Marilyn Musgrave, Phyliss Schlafly, Ann Coulter or any Concerned Woman of America could send the boys over the RAINBOW, (so to speak.)
Sometimes it seems if it weren't for pathetic self loathing old closet cases, there wouldn't be any Republican Party at all.
no offense intended David Dreier and Charlie Christ
ROFLMQAO!
While it is fun to make these cretins squirm, let's please remember that the Republicans are just sexually repressed/repressive in general. Even the straight ones are out getting freaky even as they tell us all not to. Have we forgotten the diaper boy already?
I suppose I ought to be thankful that these hypocritical old wind bags are blowing more than hot air but there is something very creepy about all this repressed sexuality among people who go so far out of their way to make life miserable for those who happen to be Gay. I don't think that everyone else should have to suffer for their self loathing.

That will serve you well, because they are. You can never be too suspicious of someone who claims to know how you should live your life better than you do.
It seems that there are more gays in the GOP than in San Francisco. And so many of them seem sooo messed up!
Well, now wait a minute. Senator Craig now maintains he made a mistake in pleading guilty to disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace. I, for one, find it credible that a United States Senator, simply to get the whole legal travail over with and speed his return to representing ultra-normal Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head in Idaho, would admit to being a pervert. You know, they're always talking about the unity and discipline in the Republican Party...rather than engaging in unseemly acts in airport restrooms, why not simply a Congressional Bath House? The numbers are surely there, as Mr. Palermo points out. Rather than making it so difficult for openly gay and lesbian Americans to live their lives, why not just release their own dammed up compulsions right there at the Capitol? So much healthier, and since they already give themselves every amenity under the sun, the taxpayer would hardly notice.
