When we set out from San Francisco last week, there were many questions. We were full of excitement, looking at that ribbon of American highway before us. Still, everyone on the tour knew that we were doing something that nobody had even tried before.
We may have had GPS in our vehicles, but there was no map for where we were going.
As we reach Washington today, we've proven what many had thought impossible. We've successfully crossed the country on gas made from algae. We've shown the world that life without fossil fuels is not some pipe dream. It's a reality we can manifest today, if we show the will.
From the California coast, to the banks of the Potomac, our adventure has demonstrated that will.
It's been an amazing trip across America so far, and we've met so many good, smart and inspirational people along the way; school children in Sacramento, a Governor in Nevada, biofuel enthusiasts in Wyoming, college students in Nebraska, the hard working men and women of Michigan, and the welcoming people of Pennsylvania.
Today, we're excited to be screening FUEL at the fabulous new Visitor's Center at the United States Capitol building. Tomorrow, we have two exciting events. One is on at the steps of the Capitol, where we join Congressman Steve Israel of New York and environmental, community and government leaders. The other is a screening at George Washington University.

And - of course - the week is capped off with the release of FUEL in theaters across the country. Tickets are now available online for FUEL's opening weekend shows in the following cities:
New York, NY
Washington, DC
San Francisco, CA
Berkeley, CA
If you don't see a screening of FUEL listed for your town, check out http://www.TheFuelFilm.com/theaters.php for upcoming releases. We're already booked for Philly, Tucson, Chicago, San Diego and more! This has been a long trip.
We've travelled many miles together. But the journey is not over and the work is not yet done. We will continue on - for as long as it takes and as far as we must - and hope you will continue along with us, as we send fossil fuels driving off into the sun.

It's pretty disgusting that this post has been up for 48 hours and not one comment. That's a statement in itself.
Very cool project, thanks for the article and what you're doing. I first heard of algae-fuel less than a year ago. It's pretty amazing to see what its become so quickly.
I've got some questions on production, mileage, emmissions etc and I'm going to follow the issue with much more intent.
I wish more people would do the same. Focus on the important and productive- not Glenn Beck etc.
